Setup

The Dritz LED Needle Threader with Cutter comes pre-assembled and ready for use. No initial setup or battery installation is required.

To prepare for use, simply slide the button to extend the threading wire. The LED light will automatically illuminate.

Operating Instructions

Threading a Needle

1. Hold the needle threader firmly with the finger grips.
2. Slide the button forward to extend the threading wire. The LED light will turn on.
3. Carefully insert the tip of the threading wire through the eye of your needle. The bright LED light will help you locate the needle's eye.
4. Once the wire is through the needle's eye, pass your thread through the loop of the threading wire.
5. Gently pull the needle threader back through the needle's eye, bringing the thread along with it.
6. Release the button to retract the threading wire and turn off the LED light.

Using the Built-in Thread Cutter

7. After threading your needle or when you need to cut a length of thread, locate the small slot on the side of the threader.
8. Place the thread into the slot.
9. Gently pull the thread downwards against the internal blade to cut it.

Troubleshooting

Threader wire bends or breaks easily.

The threading wire is delicate. Ensure you are not applying excessive force or attempting to thread needles with eyes too small for the wire. Always retract the wire when not in use to protect it.

LED light does not turn on.

Ensure the threading wire is fully extended. The light is designed to activate only when the wire is exposed. If the light still does not work, the internal button cell battery may be depleted. The battery is not user-replaceable.

Thread cutter is not effective.

Ensure the thread is properly seated in the cutting slot. If the blade becomes dull over time, the unit may need to be replaced.
