5. Maintenance

5.1 Daily Cleaning

  • Portafilter and Filters: After each use, remove the portafilter, discard used coffee grounds/pods, and rinse the portafilter and filter under running water.
  • Steam Wand: Immediately after frothing milk, wipe the steam wand with a damp cloth to remove any milk residue. Purge a small amount of steam to clear any internal blockages.
  • Drip Tray: Empty and clean the drip tray regularly to prevent overflow and bacterial growth.

5.2 Water Tank Cleaning

Clean the water tank weekly with warm water and a mild, non-abrasive detergent. Rinse thoroughly to remove any soap residue.

5.3 Descaling

Mineral deposits from water can build up in the machine over time, affecting performance and taste. Descale your machine periodically, typically every 2-3 months, or more frequently if you have hard water. Use a descaling solution specifically designed for espresso machines and follow the product's instructions carefully. Always rinse the machine thoroughly after descaling by running several cycles of fresh water.

5.4 Exterior Cleaning

Wipe the exterior of the machine with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
