4. Installation and Wiring

Follow these steps for proper installation and wiring of your LDH-45A-1050W LED driver.

  1. Input Power Connection: Connect the DC power supply positive to Pin 1 (Vin+, red wire) and negative to Pin 2 (Vin-, black wire). Ensure the input voltage is between 9 and 18Vdc.
  2. LED Output Connection: Connect the LED string positive to Pin 7 (Vout+, red wire) and the LED string negative to Pin 6 (Vout-, black wire). Observe correct polarity.
  3. Dimming Control (Optional):
    • PWM Dimming: Connect the PWM signal to Pin 5 (PWM DIM, blue wire). The dimming range is 0.8V to 8Vdc. If not used, leave this pin open.
    • Analog Dimming: Connect the analog control voltage (0.25-1.3Vdc) to Pin 4 (Analog DIM, white wire). If not used, leave this pin open.
    • DIM Signal Ground: Connect the ground of the dimming signal to Pin 3 (DIM-, black wire). This pin should not be connected to Vout- or Vin-.
  4. Remote ON/OFF Control: Both PWM DIM and Analog DIM pins can be used for remote ON/OFF control. A voltage between 0.8V and 8Vdc (for PWM) or 0.25V and 1.3Vdc (for Analog) will turn the driver ON. A voltage below 0.5Vdc (for PWM) or 0.2Vdc (for Analog) will turn the driver OFF.
  5. Secure Connections: Ensure all wire connections are secure and properly insulated to prevent short circuits.

5. Operating Modes and Dimming

The LDH-45A-1050W driver supports operation without dimming, PWM dimming, and analog dimming.

Operation Without Dimming:

To operate the driver at its rated current without dimming, ensure the Analog DIM and PWM DIM pins (Pin 4 and Pin 5) are left open (unconnected).

PWM Dimming Control:

The output current (Io) is adjusted by the PWM signal duty cycle. A PWM signal with a frequency of 1K-10KHz is recommended. The output current is proportional to the PWM duty cycle.

Analog Dimming Control:

The output current (Io) is adjusted by a DC voltage applied to the Analog DIM pin. The dimming input voltage range is 0.25-1.3Vdc. The output current is proportional to the analog control voltage.

8. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your LDH-45A-1050W LED driver, consider the following common troubleshooting steps:

  • No Light Output: Check input power supply connections and voltage. Verify LED string polarity and ensure the LED string is not open or shorted. Confirm dimming pins are correctly configured or left open if not used.
  • Flickering LEDs: Ensure stable input voltage. Check for loose connections. If using dimming, verify the dimming signal is stable and within specifications.
  • Incorrect Brightness: If dimming is active, check the dimming signal level (PWM duty cycle or analog voltage). Ensure the driver is not operating in an environment that causes thermal derating.
  • Overheating: Ensure adequate ventilation around the driver. Verify the load does not exceed the driver's rated power. Check ambient temperature.

If problems persist after checking these points, contact customer support.

9. Maintenance

The LDH-45A-1050W LED driver is designed for reliable operation with minimal maintenance.

  • Cleaning: Periodically inspect the driver for dust accumulation. If necessary, gently clean the exterior with a dry, soft cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners.
  • Inspection: Regularly check all wiring connections for tightness and signs of wear or damage.
  • Environment: Ensure the operating environment remains within the specified temperature and humidity ranges.
