2. Safety Information

Please read all safety instructions carefully before operating the unit to prevent injury or damage.

  • Always ensure the exhaust duct is properly attached and vented outdoors when using cooling or heating functions. Failure to do so will result in inefficient operation and may cause the room temperature to rise.
  • During heating mode, the unit will produce drain water that needs to be manually managed. Prepare a low-profile tray or a commercially available drain hose for proper disposal.
  • When the window panel is installed, the window cannot be opened or closed. Ensure this is acceptable for your installation location.
  • Do not obstruct the air intake or exhaust vents. Maintain adequate clearance around the unit for proper airflow.
  • This unit is designed for indoor use. Do not expose it to rain or moisture.

4.2. Window Panel Installation

The included resin window panel set allows for easy installation without requiring construction. This panel is crucial for directing exhaust heat outdoors, improving cooling efficiency.

  1. Adjust the window panel to fit your window opening.
  2. Secure the panel in place.
  3. Attach the exhaust duct to the opening in the window panel.
  4. Connect the other end of the exhaust duct to the unit's exhaust port.

Note: Installation may require tools other than a screwdriver. Refer to the separate detailed instructions provided with the window panel for specific steps.

6. Maintenance

6.1. Anti-bacterial Filter Cleaning

The unit is equipped with an anti-bacterial filter at the air intake. Regular cleaning of this filter is essential to maintain air quality and unit efficiency. Refer to the detailed cleaning instructions in the full manual.

6.2. Drainage Management

During cooling and dry modes, the unit utilizes a non-drainage mechanism that evaporates condensate using exhaust heat. However, if humidity is very high, some water may still collect. During heating mode, condensate will always be produced and requires manual drainage via the drain hose or a collection tray.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your TOYOTOMI TAD-22FW(W), please refer to the following common solutions:

  • Unit not cooling/heating effectively: Ensure the exhaust duct is securely attached and vented outdoors. Check for any gaps around the window panel and seal them if necessary. Clean the air filter.
  • Airflow stops intermittently during heating: This is normal. If the ambient temperature drops below approximately 12°C, the unit will perform internal defrosting, temporarily pausing airflow.
  • Room temperature rises during operation: This indicates that the exhaust heat is not being properly vented outside. Verify that the exhaust duct is correctly installed and that the unit is not operating in a completely closed room without proper ventilation.
  • Loud operating noise: Portable air conditioners typically produce more noise than split-type units due to the compressor being integrated into the main unit. Ensure the unit is on a stable surface and not vibrating against other objects.
  • Water leakage: Check the drain hose connection, especially during heating mode. Ensure the hose is not kinked or blocked and that the drainage point is lower than the unit's drain outlet.

If the problem persists after attempting these solutions, please contact customer support.
