Introduction

Initial Setup

Battery Installation

Your Marathon Adanac Stopwatch comes with one CR2032 battery included. If the display appears dim or unresponsive, the battery may need replacement.

1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the stopwatch.
2. Using a small Phillips head screwdriver, carefully remove the screws securing the battery cover.
3. Gently lift the cover and remove the old CR2032 battery, noting its polarity (+/-).
4. Insert a new CR2032 battery with the positive (+) side facing up.
5. Replace the battery cover and secure it with the screws. Do not overtighten.

Power On and Initial Time Setting

Upon battery installation, the stopwatch should power on automatically. If not, press any button to activate the display. To set the time and date:

1. In normal time display mode, press the MODE button repeatedly until the time setting mode is activated (usually indicated by flashing digits).
2. Use the START/STOP button to adjust the flashing digit (hours, minutes, seconds, month, day, date).
3. Use the SPLIT/RESET button to move to the next setting field.
4. Once all settings are correct, press the MODE button to exit the setting mode and return to the normal time display.

Button Functions Overview

• MODE Button: Cycles through different modes (Time, Stopwatch, Alarm, Time Setting).

Time and Date Display

In normal mode, the large LCD screen displays the current time (hour, minute, second) and date (month, day, day of the week). The time format (12-hour with AM/PM or 24-hour) can typically be toggled in the time setting mode.

Stopwatch Mode

To use the stopwatch function:

1. Press the MODE button until the stopwatch display appears (usually showing 00:00:00).
2. Press START/STOP to begin timing.
3. To record a split time (e.g., lap time), press SPLIT/RESET while the stopwatch is running. The display will momentarily show the split time while the stopwatch continues to run in the background. Press SPLIT/RESET again to return to the running total time.
4. Press START/STOP again to pause the timing.
5. To reset the stopwatch to zero, press SPLIT/RESET while the stopwatch is paused.

Alarm Function

To set and activate the alarm:

1. Press the MODE button until the alarm setting mode is displayed.
2. Use the START/STOP button to adjust the alarm hour and minute.
3. Use the SPLIT/RESET button to toggle between hour and minute settings.
4. Once the alarm time is set, press MODE to exit. The alarm icon should appear on the display, indicating it is active.
5. When the alarm sounds, press any button to silence it. To activate the 5-minute snooze, press the START/STOP button.
6. To deactivate the alarm, navigate to the alarm setting mode and press the START/STOP and SPLIT/RESET buttons simultaneously (while in time display mode, not alarm setting mode) until the alarm icon disappears. The alarm repeats daily unless deactivated.

Hourly Chime

To activate or deactivate the hourly chime, navigate to the time display mode. Press and hold the MODE button and then press the START/STOP button. A chime icon will appear or disappear, indicating the status.

Backlight Operation

Press the LIGHT button located at the bottom of the stopwatch to activate the blue backlight. The backlight will illuminate the display for a few seconds, making it easy to read in dark environments.

Maintenance

Cleaning

To clean your stopwatch, wipe it with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the casing or display. The stopwatch is water resistant, but avoid submerging it or exposing it to strong jets of water.

Battery Replacement
