2. Safety Information

  • Always ensure the main water supply is turned off before attempting any installation, maintenance, or repair work.
  • Installation must be performed by a qualified professional in accordance with all local plumbing and building codes.
  • This product is designed for high-pressure systems only. Ensure your water pressure is consistently above 1 bar (0.1 MPa).
  • This valve requires a separate temperature control unit. It does not regulate water temperature.
  • Do not modify the product in any way. Use only genuine AXOR replacement parts.

3. Package Contents

Verify that all components are present and undamaged before proceeding with installation:

  • Metal escutcheon (chrome finish)
  • Mixing unit
  • Shower thermostat (control mechanism)
  • Standard control buttons (typically Hand shower, Overhead shower, and Waterfall symbols)

Note: The AXOR iBox universal basic set (Part #01800180) is required for installation and is sold separately. It is not included in this package.

4. Installation Requirements

  • Basic Set: The AXOR iBox universal basic set (Part #01800180) must be pre-installed in the wall.
  • Water Pressure: A minimum dynamic water pressure of 1 bar (0.1 MPa) is required.
  • Temperature Control: A separate thermostatic mixer is necessary to control water temperature. This valve only manages water flow to outlets.
  • Tools: Standard plumbing tools, sealant, and measuring equipment.

5. Installation Instructions

Follow these steps for proper installation. Refer to the iBox universal basic set manual for its specific installation details.

  1. Prepare iBox: Ensure the iBox universal basic set (01800180) is correctly installed within the wall, plumb, and secured according to its specific instructions. All rough-in plumbing connections should be complete.
  2. Connect Mixing Unit: Carefully connect the ShowerSelect valve mixing unit to the iBox universal basic set. Ensure all connections are secure and watertight. Follow the iBox instructions for proper sealing and attachment.
  3. Attach Escutcheon: Position the metal escutcheon over the mixing unit and secure it to the wall. Ensure it sits flush against the finished wall surface and provides a sealed fit to prevent water ingress.
  4. Install Control Buttons: Install the control buttons (e.g., Hand shower, Overhead shower, Waterfall) onto the valve. Ensure they are correctly aligned with their respective functions and click into place securely. Different symbol buttons can be ordered separately if desired.
  5. Test System: After installation, slowly turn on the main water supply. Carefully check all connections for any leaks. Test each outlet function by pressing the corresponding button.

6. Operation

The AXOR 36773000 ShowerSelect Valve allows for intuitive control of up to three shower outlets.

  • Activating an Outlet: To turn on a specific shower outlet (e.g., hand shower, overhead shower, waterfall), simply press the corresponding button on the valve.
  • Deactivating an Outlet: To turn off an active shower outlet, press its corresponding button again.
  • Multiple Outlets: This valve supports the simultaneous use of multiple outlets. Press the buttons for the desired outlets to activate them.
  • Temperature Control: Water temperature is controlled by your separate thermostatic mixer. Adjust the temperature using that unit.

7. Maintenance

Proper care will ensure the longevity and appearance of your AXOR ShowerSelect Valve.

  • Cleaning: Clean the chrome finish regularly with a soft, damp cloth and a mild, non-abrasive cleaning agent.
  • Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Do not use cleaning agents containing hydrochloric acid, formic acid, chlorine bleach, or acetic acid, as these can damage the surface finish. Abrasive pads or scouring agents should also be avoided.
  • Rinse and Dry: After cleaning, rinse the surface thoroughly with clean water and dry immediately with a soft, lint-free cloth to prevent water spots.

8. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your ShowerSelect Valve, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • No water flow or low pressure:
    • Check if the main water supply to the bathroom is open.
    • Ensure the iBox universal basic set's shut-off valves are fully open.
    • Verify that your system pressure is above the required 1 bar.
  • Leaks around the escutcheon:
    • Ensure the metal escutcheon is properly seated and tightened against the wall.
    • Check the connections between the mixing unit and the iBox basic set for proper installation and sealing.
  • Buttons not responding or sticking:
    • Ensure the buttons are correctly installed and not obstructed by debris or mineral buildup.
    • If issues persist, it may indicate an internal mechanism problem. Contact a qualified plumber or AXOR customer service.

For complex issues, it is recommended to consult a qualified plumbing professional.
