4. Setup and Installation

Proper installation is crucial for the optimal performance of your intercom system. Please follow these steps carefully.

4.1 Outdoor Unit Installation

  1. Determine Mounting Location: Choose a suitable location near your entrance, ensuring the camera has a clear view of visitors. The recommended standard height for the camera lens is between 145cm and 160cm from the ground.
  2. Mount the Set Iron: Pass the provided set iron bracket through the holes on both sides of the outdoor station. Securely fix this bracket to the wall or door frame using appropriate screws and wall anchors.
  3. Attach Bottom Cover: Fix the bottom cover of the outdoor unit to the wall with screws, ensuring it is stable and level.
  4. Secure Outdoor Unit: Mount the outdoor unit onto the fixed bracket and bottom cover. Ensure it is securely fastened and weatherproof.

4.2 Indoor Monitor Installation

  1. Choose Location: Select a convenient indoor location for each monitor, typically within the apartment unit.
  2. Mount Bracket: Secure the indoor monitor's mounting bracket to the wall using screws and wall anchors.
  3. Connect Wiring: Before hanging, connect the necessary wiring to the back of the indoor monitor. Refer to the wiring diagram in Section 4.3.
  4. Hang Monitor: Hang the indoor monitor onto the mounted bracket, ensuring it locks into place.
  5. Connect Power: Plug in the power supply for the indoor monitor.

4.3 Wiring Diagram and Connections

The system requires wired connections between the outdoor unit, indoor monitors, and power sources. Use RVV-4 wire for optimal connection stability. Ensure all connections are secure before powering on the system.

  • Outdoor Unit to Indoor Monitors: Connect the outdoor unit to each indoor monitor using the appropriate video, audio, and power lines as indicated in the diagram.
  • Power Supply: Ensure each indoor monitor is connected to its dedicated power supply.
  • Electric Lock (Optional): If integrating an electric lock, connect it to the outdoor unit as shown in the diagram.

5.1 Indoor Monitor Controls

The indoor monitor features several buttons and knobs for controlling the system:

  • Ring Cancel Button: Press to silence the doorbell ring.
  • Monitor Button: Press to view the outdoor camera feed.
  • Unlock Button: Press to remotely unlock the connected electric door lock.
  • Intercom Button: Press to initiate or answer an intercom call with the outdoor unit or another indoor monitor.
  • Music & Ring Volume Knob: Adjusts the volume of the doorbell chimes and system sounds.
  • Brightness Knob: Adjusts the screen brightness.
  • Screen Color Knob: Adjusts the color saturation of the display.
  • Intercom Volume Knob: Adjusts the volume of the two-way audio during intercom calls.

5.2 Basic Functions

  • Answering a Call: When a visitor presses the call button on the outdoor unit, the indoor monitor will ring. Press the Intercom button to answer and speak with the visitor.
  • Monitoring: To view the outdoor area without a visitor pressing the doorbell, press the Monitor button on the indoor unit.
  • Unlocking the Door: During a conversation or while monitoring, press the Unlock button to open the connected electric door lock.
  • Two-Way Intercom: Engage in real-time two-way audio communication with visitors at the outdoor unit.
  • Inter-Monitor Communication: (If supported by specific model configuration) You can communicate between the two indoor monitors. Consult the wiring diagram for specific connections required for this feature.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your intercom system.

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the surfaces of both indoor and outdoor units. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that may damage the finish or electronic components.
  • Outdoor Unit Lens: Periodically clean the camera lens on the outdoor unit to ensure clear video quality. Use a lens cleaning cloth or a soft, damp cloth.
  • Wiring Inspection: Annually inspect all visible wiring for any signs of wear, damage, or loose connections. Address any issues promptly to prevent system malfunctions.
  • Environmental Protection: While the outdoor unit is IP54 rated for dust and splash resistance, avoid direct exposure to extreme weather conditions if possible. Ensure proper drainage around the unit.
