  2. Position the Baby Unit (Camera): Place the baby unit in a location that provides a clear view of your child. Ensure it is out of reach of children and at least 3 feet (1 meter) away from the crib.
  3. Power On the Baby Unit: Connect the baby unit to a power outlet using its AC adapter. The unit will power on automatically.
  4. Pairing (if necessary): The parent unit and baby unit are typically pre-paired. If they are not connected, refer to the 'Pairing' section in the operation guide.
  5. Connect to Wi-Fi (for remote viewing):
    • Download the free Hubble app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android) onto your smartphone or tablet.
    • Follow the in-app instructions to create an account and add your MBP854CONNECT camera. This will connect the camera to your home Wi-Fi network.

4. Maintenance

To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your baby monitor, follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the surfaces of the parent unit and baby unit. Do not use cleaning sprays or liquid cleaners.
  • Battery Care: For the parent unit's rechargeable battery, avoid extreme temperatures. If storing the unit for an extended period, charge the battery periodically to maintain its life.
  • Placement: Ensure both units are placed on stable, flat surfaces. Avoid placing them near heat sources, direct sunlight, or moisture.
  • Cable Management: Keep power cords out of reach of children to prevent strangulation hazards.

5. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Motorola MBP854CONNECT, try the following solutions:

  • No Picture/Sound on Parent Unit:
    • Ensure both the parent unit and baby unit are powered on and connected to their respective power adapters.
    • Check the battery level of the parent unit.
    • Move the parent unit closer to the baby unit to improve signal strength. Obstructions can reduce range.
  • Wi-Fi Connectivity Issues:
    • Ensure your home Wi-Fi network is active and the signal is strong where the baby unit is placed.
    • Restart your Wi-Fi router, the baby unit, and your viewing device.
    • Verify that the Hubble app is updated to the latest version.
    • If initial setup failed, try re-pairing the camera through the Hubble app.
  • Poor Video Quality/Lag:
    • Ensure you have a stable and sufficient internet connection for remote viewing.
    • Reduce interference by moving other 2.4GHz devices away from the baby unit.
  • Remote Pan/Tilt Functionality is Clunky: This can sometimes be due to network latency. Ensure a strong Wi-Fi signal and try again.
  • Parent Unit Losing Connection: This may indicate being out of range or interference. Try moving the parent unit closer to the baby unit or away from other electronic devices.
