Setup Instructions
Follow these steps to properly set up your Winco Classic Chafer:
- Unfold the Frame: Carefully unfold the collapsible frame until it is fully extended and stable. Ensure all locking mechanisms (if present) are engaged.
- Place Fuel Holders: Position the two fuel holders onto the designated shelf at the base of the chafer frame.
- Add Water to Water Pan: Place the water pan into the chafer frame. Fill the water pan with hot water to approximately one inch below the rim. (Note: Using hot water initially will speed up the heating process.)
- Insert Food Pan: Place the 8-quart food pan directly into the water pan.
- Add Food: Fill the food pan with your prepared hot food.
- Light Fuel: Carefully open and light the chafer fuel cans (sold separately) and place them into the fuel holders.
- Cover the Chafer: Place the cover onto the food pan. The built-in lid clips can be used to hold the cover in an open position for serving.

Operation
Once set up, the chafer will maintain your food at serving temperature. Here are some operational tips:
- Maintaining Temperature: The hot water in the water pan, heated by the fuel, creates steam that keeps the food pan warm. Ensure there is always water in the water pan to prevent scorching and maintain even heating.
- Serving: When serving, use the integrated lid clips to secure the cover in an upright position, preventing it from interfering with access to the food.
- Refilling: If the food pan needs refilling, carefully remove the empty pan and replace it with a full one. Ensure the water pan still contains sufficient water.
- Fuel Management: Monitor the chafer fuel. Replace empty fuel cans as needed to maintain desired food temperature. Always extinguish fuel cans safely after use.

Maintenance and Cleaning
Proper cleaning and maintenance will extend the life of your chafer:
- Cool Down: Always allow the chafer to cool completely before cleaning.
- Disassemble: Remove the food pan, water pan, lid, and fuel holders from the frame.
- Wash Components: Wash all stainless steel components (pans, lid, fuel holders) with warm, soapy water. Use a soft cloth or sponge to prevent scratching. For stubborn food residue, a non-abrasive cleaner designed for stainless steel can be used.
- Rinse and Dry: Rinse all parts thoroughly with clean water and dry immediately to prevent water spots and maintain the shine of the stainless steel.
- Clean Frame: Wipe down the chafer frame with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly.
- Storage: Once all parts are clean and dry, the frame can be collapsed for compact storage. Store all components in a clean, dry place.

If you encounter issues with your chafer, consider the following common solutions:
- Food Not Staying Warm:
- Ensure the water pan contains sufficient hot water.
