1. Introduction

3. Setup

3.1 Connecting the Drive

  1. Locate the USB Y-cable provided with your drive. This cable has two USB-A connectors on one end and a mini-USB connector on the other.
  2. Connect the mini-USB end of the cable to the port on the Transcend Portable DVD Writer.
  3. Connect both USB-A ends of the cable to available USB ports on your computer. The drive requires power from two USB ports for stable operation. If your computer has only one USB port or ports that are not adjacent, a powered USB hub or a USB extension cable may be necessary.
  4. Once connected, your operating system (Windows 7 or later, macOS 10.7 or later) should automatically detect and install the necessary drivers. No manual driver installation is typically required.

3.2 Initial Software (Optional)

4. Operating the Drive

4.1 Inserting and Ejecting Discs

  1. To open the disc tray, press the eject button located on the front of the drive. The tray will partially open.
  2. Gently pull the tray out completely.
  3. Place a CD or DVD onto the tray, ensuring it is centered on the spindle with the label side facing up.
  4. Gently push the tray back into the drive until it clicks shut.
  5. To eject a disc, press the eject button again or use the eject function within your computer's operating system.
