Levers and Controls

Refer to the diagram above for the location of each control and component:
- Hand Wheel for Outfeed Table: Adjusts the height of the outfeed table.
- Outfeed Table: Supports the workpiece after it passes the cutterhead.
- Fence: Guides the workpiece during jointing operations.
- Fence Adjustment Handle: Used to set the fence angle and position.
- Cutter Guard: Protects the user from the rotating cutterhead.
- Infeed Table: Supports the workpiece before it reaches the cutterhead.
- Hand Wheel for Infeed Table: Adjusts the height of the infeed table to control the depth of cut.
- On/Off Switch: Controls the power to the jointer.
- Table Lock Knob: Secures the table in position after adjustment.
- Fence Tilt Lock Handle: Locks the fence at the desired angle.
- Belt Guard: Encloses the drive belt for safety.

Installing V-Belt

Follow these steps to install the V-belt:
- Place the V-belt onto the cutterhead pulley and through the opening in the stand (Figure 15).
- Pull the V-belt down and place it onto the motor pulley.
- Ensure the V-belt and cutterhead pulley are vertically aligned. If they are not aligned, remove the belt and loosen the four motor mount bolts. Push down on the motor to tension the V-belt, and then re-attach the belt.
- Verify the V-belt is properly tensioned. When pressed in the center, the belt should deflect approximately 1/2 inch. If adjustment is needed, loosen the four motor mount bolts, push down on the motor to tension the V-belt, and then tighten the mounting bolts.
- After two hours of operation, check the belt tension again. Re-tension if necessary.
Installing Belt Guard
To install the belt guard, refer to Figure 16 in the previous image and follow these instructions:
- Place the belt guard over the opening in the stand.
- Align the holes in the stand with the holes in the guard.
- Attach the guard to the stand using four 1/4-20 x 1/2" pan head screws and four 1/4" flat washers (Figure 16).
