2. Setup and Installation

- Attaching the Magnet: Securely attach the spoke magnet to one of the spokes on your front wheel. Adjust its position so that it passes within 5mm of the speed sensor with each wheel rotation.
- Connecting the Cable: Route the sensor cable along the fork and brake cable, securing it with zip ties to prevent interference with moving parts. Plug the cable into the computer bracket.
- Inserting the Computer: Slide the BC 1200 computer unit into the bracket until it clicks into place.
- Wheel Size Setting:
To ensure accurate speed and distance measurements, you must set the correct wheel circumference. Refer to the table below or measure your wheel's circumference in millimeters.

To reset trip-specific data (e.g., Trip Distance, Trip Time, Average Speed, Max Speed), navigate to the desired function and press and hold the main button until the value resets to zero. Total distance and total travel time are typically not reset with this action and require a battery change or specific reset procedure (refer to troubleshooting if needed).
4. Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and accuracy of your SIGMA BC 1200, follow these maintenance guidelines:
- Cleaning: Wipe the computer unit and sensor with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Battery Replacement: The BC 1200 uses a Lithium Metal battery (included). When the display becomes dim or erratic, it's time to replace the battery. Carefully open the battery compartment, replace the old battery with a new one of the same type, and ensure the seal is properly seated before closing. Note that replacing the battery may reset total distance and time, depending on the model and duration of power loss.
- Cable and Sensor Check: Periodically inspect the sensor cable for any damage or fraying. Ensure the sensor and magnet remain securely mounted and properly aligned.
