5. Installation Instructions
Follow these steps to install your PROFLO PF5112HE Jerrit Toilet Tank onto a compatible toilet bowl.
- Prepare the Toilet Bowl: Ensure the toilet bowl is clean and free of any old gaskets or debris. The bolt holes on the bowl should align with the tank's bolt spacing (approximately 5.5 inches center-to-center). The drain hole should be compatible with a 2-inch drain.
- Install Tank-to-Bowl Gasket: Place the large rubber tank-to-bowl gasket over the flush valve opening on the bottom of the toilet tank. Ensure it is seated firmly and evenly.
- Position the Tank: Carefully lift the toilet tank and align the bolt holes on the tank with the bolt holes on the toilet bowl. Gently lower the tank onto the bowl, ensuring the gasket creates a seal.
- Secure the Tank: Insert the tank-to-bowl bolts through the tank and bowl holes. Place washers and nuts onto the bolts from underneath the bowl. Hand-tighten the nuts initially, then use an adjustable wrench to tighten them evenly, alternating between bolts. Do not overtighten, as this can crack the ceramic. The tank should be stable but not excessively rigid.
- Connect Water Supply: Connect a new water supply line (recommended) from the shut-off valve to the fill valve on the bottom of the tank. Hand-tighten, then use a wrench for a final quarter-turn.
- Restore Water Supply: Slowly turn on the water supply valve. Check for any leaks around the tank-to-bowl connection and the water supply line. Tighten connections slightly if leaks are observed.
- Check Water Level: Allow the tank to fill. The water level should stop below the overflow tube. Adjust the fill valve if necessary to achieve the correct water level.
- Install Tank Lid: Place the tank lid securely on top of the tank.

6. Operating Instructions
The PROFLO PF5112HE Jerrit Toilet Tank is designed for efficient flushing with a 1.28 gallons-per-flush (GPF) rate.
- To flush, press down firmly on the flush lever located on the side of the tank.
- For a thorough flush, hold the lever down until the tank is completely empty.
- Allow the tank to refill completely before flushing again.
7. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Clean the exterior of the tank with a soft cloth and mild, non-abrasive cleaner. Avoid harsh chemicals that can damage the ceramic finish.
- Internal Components: Periodically inspect the fill valve, flush valve, and flapper for wear or damage. Replace components as needed to maintain optimal performance and prevent leaks.
- Leak Detection: Regularly check for visible leaks around the base of the tank, the water supply line, and inside the tank. Address any leaks promptly to prevent water damage.
8. Troubleshooting
- Problem: Toilet runs continuously or cycles on and off.
Solution: Check the fill valve for proper adjustment. Ensure the water level is not too high, causing water to flow into the overflow tube. Inspect the flapper for a proper seal; replace if worn or damaged. - Problem: Weak or incomplete flush.
Solution: Ensure the water level in the tank is at the maximum recommended level. Adjust the fill valve if the water level is too low. Check that the flapper opens fully and stays open long enough for the tank to empty. - Problem: Leaks around the base of the tank.
Solution: Turn off the water supply. Gently tighten the tank-to-bowl bolts evenly. If the leak persists, the tank-to-bowl gasket may need to be replaced. - Problem: Slow tank refill.
Solution: Check the water supply valve to ensure it is fully open. Inspect the fill valve for any obstructions or debris that might be restricting water flow.
