Setup and Installation

Your Avanti compact refrigerator is designed for freestanding installation. Proper ventilation is crucial for satisfactory cooling performance and overall longevity.

Location Requirements:

  • Place the refrigerator on a flat, solid surface strong enough to support it when fully loaded.
  • Allow at least 5 inches (12.7 cm) of space between the back and sides of the refrigerator and any adjacent walls to ensure proper air circulation.
  • Avoid placing the refrigerator in direct sunlight or near heat sources (e.g., stoves, heaters, radiators).
  • Ensure the ambient temperature is between 50°F (10°C) and 90°F (32°C) for optimal performance.

Electrical Connection:

  • Plug the refrigerator into a dedicated, grounded 110-120V, 60Hz AC outlet.
  • Do not use extension cords or adapter plugs.

Before First Use:

  • Remove all packaging materials, including foam and tape.
  • Clean the interior with a mild detergent and warm water.
  • Allow the refrigerator to stand upright for at least 2-4 hours before plugging it in to allow the refrigerant to settle.

Maintenance

Manual Defrost:

  1. Defrost the unit when frost accumulation reaches approximately 1/4 inch (0.6 cm) thick.
  2. Unplug the refrigerator from the power outlet.
  3. Remove all food items and place them in another cooler.
  4. Leave the door open to allow the frost to melt naturally. You can place towels at the bottom to absorb water.
  5. Do not use sharp objects or heating devices to remove frost, as this can damage the cooling system.
  6. Once defrosted, clean and dry the interior thoroughly before plugging the unit back in and returning food.

Cleaning:

  • Always unplug the refrigerator before cleaning.
  • Wash the interior with a mild detergent and warm water. Use a soft cloth or sponge.
  • Clean the exterior with a mild detergent and warm water. Dry thoroughly with a soft cloth.
  • Periodically clean the condenser coils at the back of the unit with a soft brush or vacuum cleaner to maintain efficiency.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners, harsh chemicals, or scouring pads, as they can damage surfaces.
