1. Introduction

The Hasbro Gaming Cluedo Grab & Go Game is a compact, portable version of the classic mystery board game. Designed for travel and convenience, this game allows players to solve a murder mystery on the go. The objective is to determine who committed the crime, with what weapon, and in which room.

This manual provides instructions for setting up, playing, and maintaining your Cluedo Grab & Go game.

2. Components

Before starting, ensure all components are present. The Cluedo Grab & Go game includes the following:

  • 1 Gameboard (integrated into the game unit)
  • 6 Character Movers (pawns)
  • 6 Weapon Tokens
  • 6 Guest Cards (Suspects)

3. Setup

  1. Prepare the Game Unit: Open the compact game unit to reveal the game board. Place it on a flat, stable surface.
  2. Place Weapon Tokens: Randomly place one weapon token in each of the designated rooms on the game board.
  3. Select Characters: Each player chooses a character pawn and places it on its corresponding starting space on the board.
  4. Prepare the Cards:
    • Separate the Guest, Room, and Weapon cards into three distinct piles.
    • Shuffle each pile separately.
    • Secretly take one card from each pile (one Guest, one Room, one Weapon) and place them into the "confidential" envelope without looking at them. These three cards represent the solution to the mystery.
    • Shuffle the remaining Guest, Room, and Weapon cards together to form a single draw pile. Deal these cards face down to all players until all cards are distributed. Players should keep their cards secret.
  5. Distribute Detective Notebooks: Each player receives a detective notebook and a pencil (not included). Players mark off the cards they hold in their notebook.
  6. Determine First Player: The player who most recently visited a museum or solved a puzzle goes first. Play proceeds clockwise.

4. Operating (Gameplay)

4.1. Objective

The goal of Cluedo Grab & Go is to be the first player to correctly identify the murderer, the weapon used, and the room where the crime took place.

4.2. Player Turn Sequence

On your turn, follow these steps:

  1. Roll the Dice: Roll both dice and move your character pawn that many spaces. You can move horizontally or vertically, but not diagonally. You cannot move through a space occupied by another player's pawn.
  2. Enter a Room: To make a suggestion, you must enter a room. You do not need an exact roll to enter a room.
  3. Make a Suggestion (Optional): Once inside a room, you may make a suggestion about who committed the crime, with what weapon, and in the room you are currently in. For example, "I suggest Professor Plum, with the Candlestick, in the Library."
    • Move the suggested suspect's pawn and weapon token into the room you are in.
    • Starting with the player to your left, each player must secretly show you one card that disproves your suggestion, if they have one. They must show the first card they have that matches any part of your suggestion (suspect, weapon, or room). If they have multiple, they choose which one to show.
    • If a player shows you a card, your turn ends. Mark this information in your detective notebook.
    • If no player can disprove your suggestion, you are closer to solving the mystery.
  4. Use Secret Passages: Some rooms have secret passages that allow you to move to another room on the board without rolling the dice. This counts as your move for the turn.
  5. Make an Accusation (Optional): When you believe you know the solution, you can make an accusation. This can only be done once per game.
    • State your accusation: "I accuse [Suspect], with the [Weapon], in the [Room]."
    • Secretly look at the three cards in the confidential envelope.
    • If your accusation is correct, you win the game!
    • If your accusation is incorrect, you are out of the game. You can no longer move or make suggestions/accusations, but you must still show cards to other players if they make a suggestion you can disprove.

The game ends when a player makes a correct accusation or all players have made incorrect accusations.

5. Storage and Maintenance

The Cluedo Grab & Go game is designed for easy storage. The game board folds into a compact unit, allowing all components to be stored inside. This all-in-one game unit ensures that parts are kept together and organized, making it ideal for travel.

  • Ensure all cards, pawns, tokens, and dice are placed back into the designated compartments within the game unit before closing.
  • Store the game in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent warping or fading of components.
  • Clean components with a soft, dry cloth if necessary. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.

6. Troubleshooting
