Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and longevity of your coffee maker.
Daily Cleaning:
- Unplug the coffee maker and allow it to cool completely.
- The carafe lid, filter basket, and showerhead are dishwasher safe (top rack recommended). Alternatively, wash them with warm, soapy water and rinse thoroughly.
- Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
- Ensure the water reservoir is empty and allow it to air dry with the lid open to prevent musty odors.
Descaling (Monthly or as needed):
Mineral deposits from water can affect performance. Descale your coffee maker regularly.
- Mix a descaling solution according to the manufacturer's instructions (e.g., white vinegar and water, or a commercial descaler).
- Pour the solution into the water reservoir.
- Place an empty carafe with the filter basket (without a filter or coffee) under the showerhead.
- Run a full brewing cycle.
- After the cycle, discard the solution from the carafe.
- Rinse the reservoir and carafe thoroughly with fresh water.
- Run at least two full cycles with fresh water to flush out any remaining descaling solution.
