4. Installation
Installation of the Bromic Smart-Heat Platinum 500 heater should be performed by a qualified and licensed professional in accordance with local codes and regulations.
4.1 Mounting Options
The heater offers flexible mounting options:
- Wall Mounted: Utilize the provided mounting bracket. The bracket allows the heater to pivot 25 degrees left or right.
- Ceiling Suspended: Can be hung from the ceiling using an optional Ceiling Post Mount (not included).
The optimum mounting height is 8 feet from the floor to the bottom of the heater. If the distance above the heater is less than 42 inches, or if the heater will be exposed to elements, an accessory Heat Deflector must be used.

4.2 Gas and Electrical Connections
- Connect to a natural gas supply. All gas connections must comply with local codes.
- The electronic ignition system requires a 120V electrical supply. Ensure proper grounding.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Starting the Heater
- Ensure the gas supply valve is open.
- Activate the electronic ignition system (requires 120V). The heater features automatic reignition.
- Allow a few minutes for the radiant elements to reach full operating temperature.
5.2 Adjusting Heat Direction
The mounting bracket allows the heater head to pivot 25 degrees to the left or right. Carefully adjust the heater's angle to direct heat to your desired area. Ensure the heater is cool before making physical adjustments.
5.3 Shutting Down the Heater
- Deactivate the electronic ignition system.
- Close the main gas supply valve if the heater will not be used for an extended period.

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your heater. Always ensure the heater is completely cool and the gas supply is turned off before performing any maintenance.
