4. Installation Instructions

  1. Turn off Power: Locate the circuit breaker or fuse that controls the outlet you are working on and turn it OFF. Verify power is off using a voltage tester.
  2. Prepare Wires: Strip approximately 1/2 inch (12-15 mm) of insulation from the ends of the circuit wires.
  3. Connect Ground Wire: Connect the bare copper or green insulated ground wire to the green grounding screw terminal on the receptacle. Tighten securely.
  4. Connect Neutral Wire: Connect the white (neutral) wire to one of the silver screw terminals. Ensure the wire is wrapped clockwise around the screw and tightened securely.
  5. Connect Hot Wire: Connect the black (hot) wire to one of the brass screw terminals. Ensure the wire is wrapped clockwise around the screw and tightened securely.
  6. Secure Connections: Double-check all connections to ensure they are tight and no bare wire is exposed beyond the terminal screws.

4.3. Mounting the Receptacle

  1. Carefully fold the wires into the electrical box, leaving enough room for the receptacle.
  2. Align the mounting straps of the receptacle with the screw holes in the electrical box.
  3. Secure the receptacle to the electrical box using the provided mounting screws. Do not overtighten.
  4. Install the wall plate (not included) over the receptacle.
  5. Restore Power: Turn the power back on at the circuit breaker or fuse box.
