3. Setup and Installation

Follow these steps for proper installation of your string lights:

2. Secure the Cord: Use appropriate mounting hardware (not included) to securely hang the string light cord. Avoid hanging the lights by the individual bulb sockets or the electrical wire itself. Use hooks, zip ties, or guide wires for support.
3. Check Sockets (Crucial Step): Before plugging in the string light or installing bulbs, ensure the string light is NOT plugged into any power source. Carefully inspect each bulb socket. The center brass tab inside each socket must be slightly raised to make proper contact with the bulb. Refer to the diagram below for correct and incorrect tab positions. If a tab is flat, gently lift it with a small, non-conductive tool.

4. Install Bulbs: Once all sockets are checked and corrected if necessary, screw the bulbs firmly into each socket. Do not overtighten.
5. Connect Multiple Strings (Optional): This string light set is designed to connect up to 5 strings end-to-end. To connect, ensure both strings are unplugged. Remove the end cap from the first string and the plug from the second string. Connect the male plug of the second string into the female receptacle of the first string. Secure the connection.
6. Power On: Once all bulbs are installed and connections are secure, plug the string light into a grounded outdoor-rated electrical outlet.
