1. Product Overview

This document provides instructions for the SEIKI TV remote control, model numbers SE421TT, SE241TS, and SC461TS, part number 845-045-03B01. This remote is designed to be compatible with various SEIKI LED HDTV models, offering direct functionality without complex programming.

2. Setup

2.1. Battery Installation

1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the remote control.
2. Slide the battery compartment cover downwards or outwards to open it.
3. Insert two AAA batteries (not included), ensuring the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals align correctly with the markings inside the compartment.
4. Replace the battery compartment cover by sliding it back into place until it clicks securely.

Note: Always use new batteries and replace both batteries at the same time. Do not mix old and new batteries or different types of batteries.

2.2. Initial Use

This remote control is designed for immediate use with compatible SEIKI TV models. No programming or code entry is typically required. Simply insert the batteries, point the remote at your television, and begin operation.

3. Operating Instructions

The remote control provides access to all standard functions of your SEIKI television. Below is a description of the main buttons and their functions:

• Power (Red Button): Turns the television on or off.
• Mute (Green Button): Mutes or unmutes the television audio.
• Number Buttons (0-9): Directly select channels or input numerical values.
• P.MODE (Picture Mode): Cycles through various picture modes (e.g., Standard, Dynamic, Movie).
• S.MODE (Sound Mode): Cycles through various sound modes (e.g., Standard, Music, Movie).
• MTS (Multi-channel Television Sound): Selects audio channels (e.g., Stereo, SAP).
• SLEEP: Sets a timer for the TV to automatically turn off.
• SOURCE: Selects the input source (e.g., HDMI 1, AV, Component).
• CH +/- (Channel Up/Down): Changes the television channel.
• VOL +/- (Volume Up/Down): Adjusts the television volume.
• INFO: Displays current channel information or program details.
• AUTO: Initiates auto-tuning or auto-adjustment for certain inputs.
• CC (Closed Caption): Toggles closed captions on or off.

• Colored Buttons (A, B, C, D): Functions vary depending on the TV model or specific menu context. Often used for interactive features or quick access.
• CH.LIST: Displays the channel list.
• ADD/ERASE: Used for adding or erasing channels in the channel list.
• FAV+, FAV-: Navigates through favorite channels.
• HDMI: Directly switches to an HDMI input.

4. Maintenance

4.1. Battery Replacement

Replace batteries when the remote's response becomes sluggish or stops working. Follow the battery installation steps in Section 2.1. Dispose of used batteries responsibly according to local regulations.

4.2. Cleaning

To clean the remote control, gently wipe its surface with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, slightly dampen the cloth with water or a mild, non-abrasive cleaner. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials, as these can damage the remote's finish or internal components.

4.3. Storage

Store the remote control in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and high humidity. If the remote will not be used for an extended period, it is advisable to remove the batteries to prevent leakage and potential damage.

5. Troubleshooting

• Remote not responding:
  • Check if the batteries are inserted correctly with the correct polarity.
  • Replace old batteries with new ones.
  • Ensure there are no obstructions between the remote control and the TV's infrared sensor.
  • Make sure you are within the effective range of the TV's sensor.
• Specific buttons not working:
  • Clean around the button to ensure no debris is preventing it from pressing correctly.
  • If only one or a few buttons are unresponsive after battery replacement, the remote may be damaged and require replacement.
• Interference:
  • Strong light sources (e.g., direct sunlight, fluorescent lights) can interfere with the remote's signal. Try operating the remote in a different lighting condition.
