Setup

1. Unpacking and Placement

  1. Carefully remove the CLD-C3 unit from its packaging.
  2. Place the unit on a stable, level surface with adequate ventilation. Avoid direct sunlight, heat sources, or areas with high humidity.

2. Connecting to Your Audio/Video System

The CLD-C3 offers various output options:

  • Video Output (Pin Jack): Connect the video output (yellow RCA jack) to the video input of your TV or receiver using an RCA video cable. The unit has 2 such outputs.
  • S-Video Output (S-Terminal): For higher quality video, connect the S-Video output to an S-Video input on your TV or receiver using an S-Video cable. The unit has 1 S-terminal output.
  • Analog Audio Output (RCA): Connect the analog audio outputs (red and white RCA jacks) to the audio inputs of your amplifier or receiver using RCA audio cables. The unit has 2 such outputs.
  • Digital Audio Output (Optical): For digital audio, connect the optical digital output to a digital audio input on your receiver or DAC using an optical cable. The unit has 1 optical digital output.

3. Power Connection

After all audio/video connections are made, connect the power cord to the AC IN terminal on the rear of the unit, then plug it into a standard AC100V, 50/60Hz wall outlet.

Operating Instructions

1. Loading a Disc

  1. Press the OPEN/CLOSE button on the front panel or remote control to open the disc tray.
  2. Place the LaserDisc or CD gently onto the disc tray with the label side facing up.
  3. Press the OPEN/CLOSE button again to close the disc tray. The unit will begin reading the disc.

2. Basic Playback

  1. Ensure your TV/monitor and audio system are turned on and set to the correct input source.
  2. After loading a disc, press the PLAY button on the front panel or remote control to start playback.
  3. Use the STOP, PAUSE, FAST FORWARD, and REWIND buttons for playback control.

3. Double-Sided Playback (for LaserDiscs)

The CLD-C3 supports automatic double-sided playback for compatible LaserDiscs. When the first side of a disc finishes, the player will automatically reverse and begin playing the second side without requiring manual intervention.

4. Continuous Playback

For certain discs or programmed sequences, the continuous playback feature allows for uninterrupted playback. Refer to your remote control or front panel for specific continuous playback mode activation, if available.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning the Unit

  • Wipe the exterior of the unit with a soft, dry cloth.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners, waxes, or solvents.
  • Ensure no liquids enter the unit.

2. Disc Care

  • Handle discs by their edges to avoid fingerprints on the playing surface.
  • Clean discs with a soft, lint-free cloth, wiping from the center outwards.
  • Store discs in their cases away from direct sunlight and heat.
