Introduction
This user manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation of the TDK-Lambda DPP100-24 AC/DC DIN Rail Power Supply. Please read this manual thoroughly before installation and operation to ensure proper use and to prevent damage to the unit or connected equipment.
The DPP100-24 is a robust 24V/100W single-output DIN-rail mount power supply designed for industrial applications. It features a compact size, universal input voltage, and convection cooling. Key features include over-current protection and over-voltage protection with an AC line reset cycle. This power supply is designed for global use, facilitating easier system configuration and integration. The output voltage is fixed but can be adjusted within a specified range.
Safety Instructions
- Ensure the power supply is disconnected from the main power source before any installation, wiring, or maintenance.
- Installation should be performed by qualified personnel only, in accordance with all local and national electrical codes.
- Do not operate the unit in environments exceeding its specified temperature and humidity ratings.
- Ensure proper ventilation around the unit to prevent overheating.
- Do not open the casing of the power supply. There are no user-serviceable parts inside.
- Protect the unit from moisture, dust, and corrosive substances.
Product Overview

Figure 1: Front view of the TDK-Lambda DPP100-24 DIN Rail Power Supply, showing input and output terminals, DC ON indicator, Vout adjustment, and Single/Parallel switch.
The DPP100-24 features clearly labeled input and output terminals for easy wiring. It includes a DC ON indicator LED, a voltage adjustment potentiometer (Vout ADJ.), and a switch for selecting between Single and Parallel operation modes. The input voltage range is 115/230VAC at 50/60Hz, and the output is 24VDC at 4.2A.
Setup
1. Mounting
The DPP100-24 is designed for DIN rail mounting. Ensure the DIN rail is securely fastened and capable of supporting the weight of the power supply and associated components. Mount the unit vertically to facilitate optimal convection cooling.
- Hook the top edge of the power supply onto the DIN rail.
- Push the bottom edge of the power supply firmly until it clicks into place on the DIN rail.
- Verify that the unit is securely attached and does not wobble.
2. Wiring
Before wiring, ensure all power sources are disconnected. Use appropriate wire gauges for the input and output connections to handle the rated current.
Input Wiring (AC)
- Connect the Line (L) wire to the 'L' terminal.
- Connect the Neutral (N) wire to the 'N' terminal.
- Connect the Earth Ground (⊕) wire to the '⊕' terminal.
- Ensure all connections are tight to prevent loose contacts and potential hazards.
Output Wiring (DC)
- Connect the positive (+) load wire to one of the '+' terminals.
- Connect the negative (-) load wire to one of the '-' terminals.
- For parallel operation, ensure the 'Single/Parallel' switch is set to 'Parallel' and follow specific wiring guidelines for load sharing.
Operating Instructions
1. Power On
After completing all wiring and ensuring safety precautions are met, apply AC input power to the unit. The 'DC ON' LED indicator will illuminate green, indicating that the output voltage is present.
2. Output Voltage Adjustment (Vout ADJ.)
The output voltage can be finely adjusted using the 'Vout ADJ.' potentiometer. Use a small, insulated screwdriver to turn the potentiometer clockwise to increase the voltage or counter-clockwise to decrease it. Monitor the output voltage with a multimeter during adjustment to ensure it remains within the acceptable range for your application.
3. Single/Parallel Operation
The switch labeled 'Single/Parallel' allows configuration for either standalone operation or parallel operation with another compatible power supply for increased current capacity or redundancy.
- Single Mode: For standalone operation, ensure the switch is set to 'Single'.
- Parallel Mode: When connecting multiple DPP100-24 units in parallel, set the switch to 'Parallel' on all units. Refer to the specific application notes for detailed parallel connection diagrams and load sharing considerations.
Maintenance
The DPP100-24 is designed for long-term, reliable operation with minimal maintenance. However, periodic checks can help ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Cleaning: Periodically clean the exterior of the unit with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust and debris. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents. Ensure the unit is powered off and disconnected before cleaning.
- Ventilation: Ensure that the ventilation openings are not obstructed. Adequate airflow is crucial for convection cooling.
- Connections: Periodically check all input and output wiring connections for tightness. Loose connections can lead to poor performance or overheating.
- Environmental Conditions: Verify that the operating environment remains within the specified temperature and humidity ranges.
Note: There are no user-serviceable parts inside the power supply. Any internal servicing should only be performed by authorized service personnel.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No DC output / DC ON LED off | No AC input power; Input fuse blown; Internal fault | Check AC input connections and power source; Check external circuit breaker/fuse; Contact technical support if problem persists. |
| Output voltage too low or unstable | Overload condition; Incorrect Vout ADJ. setting; Loose output connections | Reduce load; Adjust Vout ADJ. potentiometer; Check and tighten output wiring. |
| Unit shuts down intermittently | Over-temperature; Overload protection activated; Over-voltage protection activated | Ensure adequate ventilation and ambient temperature; Reduce load; Cycle AC input power to reset over-voltage protection. |
If troubleshooting steps do not resolve the issue, please contact TDK-Lambda technical support.
