2. Safety Information

3. Product Overview

4. Setup and Installation
4.1 Battery Installation
The SMAN360 requires 6 AA batteries (included). To install:
- Locate the battery compartment on the rear of the unit.
- Open the battery cover.
- Insert 6 AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
- Close the battery cover securely.
The unit is designed for approximately 350 hours of battery life.
4.2 Connecting Thermocouples
The SMAN360 comes with two Type-K thermocouples (TC24). Connect these to the designated ports on the unit for temperature measurements required for superheat and subcooling calculations.
4.3 Connecting Hoses
Connect your refrigerant hoses to the three ports at the bottom of the manifold. Ensure connections are tight to prevent leaks.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Powering On/Off
Press and hold the power button (usually indicated by a sun icon or power symbol) to turn the unit on or off.
5.2 Selecting Refrigerant
The SMAN360 supports 45 refrigerants. Use the "Refrigerant" button and arrow keys to scroll through and select the appropriate refrigerant for your system. Updates can be performed via the mini USB connection.
5.3 Micron Vacuum Gauge Operation
The built-in micron gauge provides resolution from 50 to 9,999 microns. It features:
- Micron Alarm: Set a target micron level. The alarm will sound when the vacuum reaches this level, indicating completion of the evacuation process.
- Stopwatch: Monitor the duration of the vacuum process.
- Rate Indicator: Observe the rate of vacuum decay.
5.4 Superheat and Subcooling Calculations
The SMAN360 automatically calculates target superheat and displays simultaneous superheat and subcooling values, eliminating manual calculations and guesswork.
5.5 Pressure Sensor Adjustment
The SMAN360 allows for linear adjustment of pressure sensors based on refrigerant type, temperature, and pressure, which can be performed directly in the field for enhanced accuracy.
6. Maintenance
6.1 Cleaning

6.2 Storage
Store the SMAN360 in its padded carrying case (ANC10) when not in use to protect it from dust, dirt, and physical damage. Avoid storing in areas with extreme temperatures or high humidity.
