4. Setup and Installation
4.1. Battery Installation
- Locate the battery compartment on the inside of the safe door.
- Open the battery cover.
- Insert 4 x AA batteries (not included) according to the polarity indicators (+/-).
- Close the battery cover.
- A beep sound indicates successful battery installation.
4.2. Initial Code Setting
The safe comes with a factory default code (usually "159"). It is crucial to change this immediately.
- With the safe door open, press the red reset button located on the inside of the door, near the hinge. You will hear a beep.
- Within 5 seconds, enter your new 3-8 digit code on the keypad.
- Press the "A" or "#" button to confirm. The safe will beep twice, indicating the new code is set.
- Test the new code with the door open before closing it.
4.3. Mounting the Safe
The safe features pre-drilled holes for secure mounting to a wall or floor.
- Choose a suitable location for mounting, ensuring it is a solid surface.
- Mark the drilling points through the pre-drilled holes inside the safe.
- Drill pilot holes into the wall or floor using an appropriate drill bit.
- Align the safe with the drilled holes and secure it using the provided fixing bolts.
- Ensure the safe is firmly attached and cannot be easily removed.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1. Opening the Safe with Your Code
- Enter your 3-8 digit personal code on the keypad.
- Press the "A" or "#" button to confirm.
- If the code is correct, a green light will illuminate, and you will hear a beep.
- Within 5 seconds, turn the knob clockwise to open the safe door.
5.2. Opening the Safe with Emergency Key
In case of forgotten code or dead batteries, use the emergency key:
- Locate the keyhole cover, usually near the knob. Remove it.
- Insert one of the emergency keys into the keyhole.
- Turn the key counter-clockwise while simultaneously turning the knob clockwise to open the safe.
- Once open, you can replace the batteries if needed or reset your code.
5.3. Closing the Safe
- Close the safe door firmly.
- Turn the knob counter-clockwise to lock the door.
- Ensure the door is securely locked by gently pulling on the door.
6. Maintenance
6.1. Battery Replacement
When the batteries are low, the red light will flash, or the safe will beep continuously after entering the code. Replace all four batteries promptly.
- Open the safe using your code or the emergency key.
- Open the battery compartment cover on the inside of the door.
- Remove the old batteries and dispose of them responsibly.
- Insert new 4 x AA batteries, observing correct polarity.
- Close the battery cover.
- Your personal code will be retained even after battery replacement.
6.2. Cleaning
Clean the exterior of the safe with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the finish or electronic components.
7. Troubleshooting
7.1. Safe Does Not Open with Code
- Incorrect Code: Ensure you are entering the correct 3-8 digit code followed by "A" or "#".
- Low Batteries: If the red light flashes or the safe beeps continuously, replace the batteries. Use the emergency key to open the safe if batteries are completely dead.
- Keypad Malfunction: If the keypad is unresponsive, try replacing the batteries. If the issue persists, use the emergency key and contact support.
