1. Introduction

2. Safety Information

Observe the following safety precautions to prevent accidents and damage to the unit:

4. Controls and Features

4.1 Front Panel Layout

  • DISP Button: Changes display information.
  • Power/Mode Button (MOD): Turns the unit on/off, switches between audio sources (Radio, CD, USB, SD, AUX).
  • Volume Knob: Adjusts the master volume. Press to access audio settings (Bass, Treble, Balance, Fader).
  • AMS Button: Automatic Music Search (CD/USB/SD) or Auto Store (Radio).
  • Band Button (BND): Selects radio bands (FM1, FM2, FM3, AM1, AM2).
  • Tuning/Track Buttons (◀◀ / ▶▶): Skips tracks/chapters or tunes radio frequencies.
  • Numeric Preset Buttons (1-6): Stores and recalls radio stations. Also functions as INT (Intro Scan), RPT (Repeat), RDM (Random), -10 (Jump back 10 tracks), +10 (Jump forward 10 tracks) for media playback.
  • CD Slot: Insert audio CDs or MP3 discs.
  • USB Port: Connect USB storage devices for MP3/WMA playback.
  • SD Card Slot: Insert SD cards for MP3/WMA playback.
  • AUX Input: Connect external audio devices using a 3.5mm stereo cable.

4.2 Rear Connections

  • Wiring Harness Connector: Connects to the included wiring harness for power, ground, speaker outputs, and antenna.
  • RCA Pre-Outs (Red/White): Provides stereo audio output for connecting external amplifiers.

4.3 Remote Control

The included remote control allows for convenient operation of the unit from a distance. Refer to Figure 3.1 for an image of the remote control.

  • Power Button: Turns the unit on/off.
  • Mode Button: Switches between audio sources.
  • Volume Up/Down: Adjusts the volume level.
  • Track Skip/Tune: Skips tracks or tunes radio frequencies.
  • Numeric Buttons: Functions as radio presets or direct track selection.
  • Other buttons for specific playback functions (e.g., Repeat, Random, Mute).

5. Installation

Professional installation is recommended. Incorrect wiring can cause serious damage. Always disconnect the vehicle's negative battery terminal before beginning installation.

5.1 Mounting the Unit

The AGR-S202 is designed for standard DIN-sized openings. Use the supplied mounting sleeve and screws to secure the unit in the dashboard.

5.2 Wiring Connections

Refer to the wiring diagram provided with your unit and the included wiring harness (Figure 3.1). Common connections include:

  • Yellow Wire: Constant 12V (Battery)
  • Red Wire: Switched 12V (Ignition/ACC)
  • Black Wire: Ground
  • Blue Wire: Power Antenna / Amplifier Remote Turn-On
  • Speaker Wires: Connect to vehicle's speakers (e.g., White/White-Black for Front Left, Gray/Gray-Black for Front Right, Green/Green-Black for Rear Left, Purple/Purple-Black for Rear Right). Ensure correct polarity.

Caution: Incorrect wiring can damage the unit or vehicle. If unsure, consult a professional installer.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Power On/Off and Source Selection

  • Power On: Press the MOD button.
  • Power Off: Press and hold the MOD button.
  • Source Selection: Press the MOD button repeatedly to cycle through available sources: Radio, CD, USB, SD, AUX.

6.2 Radio Operation

  • Band Selection: Press the BND button to select FM1, FM2, FM3, AM1, or AM2.
  • Manual Tuning: Press the ◀◀ or ▶▶ buttons briefly to change frequency step by step.
  • Automatic Seek Tuning: Press and hold the ◀◀ or ▶▶ buttons to automatically seek the next strong station.
  • Store/Recall Presets: Tune to a desired station, then press and hold one of the numeric preset buttons (1-6) until you hear a beep to store it. Briefly press a numeric button to recall a stored station.
  • Auto Store (AMS): In radio mode, press and hold the AMS button to automatically scan and store the strongest stations into the current band's presets.

6.3 CD/MP3 Disc Playback

  • Insert Disc: Gently insert a CD or MP3 disc into the CD slot with the label side up. The unit will automatically switch to CD mode and begin playback.
  • Eject Disc: Press the eject button (usually near the CD slot) to remove the disc.
  • Play/Pause: Press the MOD button briefly during playback.
  • Skip Track: Press ▶▶ to skip to the next track, ◀◀ to go to the beginning of the current track or previous track.
  • Fast Forward/Rewind: Press and hold ▶▶ or ◀◀ during playback.
  • Repeat (RPT): Press the '2' button (RPT) to repeat the current track.
  • Random (RDM): Press the '3' button (RDM) for random playback of tracks.
  • Intro Scan (INT): Press the '1' button (INT) to play the first few seconds of each track.

6.4 USB/SD Card Playback

  • Insert USB/SD: Insert a USB flash drive into the USB port or an SD card into the SD card slot. The unit will automatically switch to USB/SD mode and begin playback of compatible MP3/WMA files.
  • Navigation: Use the ◀◀ or ▶▶ buttons to skip tracks. Use the '+10' and '-10' buttons (5 and 6) to jump 10 tracks forward or backward.
  • Playback controls (Play/Pause, Repeat, Random, Intro Scan) function similarly to CD playback.
  • Note: The USB port is primarily for media playback from memory sticks and does not support charging or direct music streaming from smartphones/iPods.

6.5 AUX Input Operation

  • Connect Device: Connect an external audio device (e.g., smartphone, MP3 player) to the front AUX input using a 3.5mm stereo audio cable.
  • Select AUX Source: Press the MOD button until "AUX" is displayed.
  • Control playback (play, pause, skip) directly from the connected external device. Adjust volume using the unit's volume knob.

6.6 Audio Settings

  • Access Settings: Press the Volume Knob briefly to cycle through audio settings: BASS, TREBLE, BALANCE (L/R), FADER (F/R).
  • Adjust Settings: Rotate the Volume Knob to adjust the selected setting.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning the Unit: Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the front panel. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Cleaning Discs: Wipe discs from the center outwards with a clean, soft cloth. Do not use solvents or abrasive materials.
  • Avoid Liquids: Do not allow liquids to enter the unit.
  • Temperature: Avoid exposing the unit to extreme temperatures.

8. Troubleshooting
