5. Installation Guide
This section provides a step-by-step guide for installing your iSpring WGB22B Whole House Water Filtration System. For visual assistance, please refer to the embedded videos.
5.1. Pre-Installation Checklist
- Read the entire user manual carefully before starting.
- Ensure all parts are included and you have all necessary tools.
- Confirm your system's inlet/outlet port size (1-inch for WGB22B) matches your plumbing or acquire appropriate converter fittings.
- Consider installing a water router bypass for easier future filter replacement and system maintenance.
5.2. Correcting Flow Direction (If Needed)
The iSpring WGB and WCB series systems require a specific water flow direction for optimal filtration. When facing the system, the inlet should be on your right and the outlet on your left. If your setup requires the opposite flow, you will need to reverse the housing caps on the machine head.
- Place the machine head on a flat surface.
- Each housing cap is secured by four screws to a metal bracket. Remove all screws.
- Flip and carefully realign the metal bracket with the housing caps to reverse the flow direction.
- Tighten all screws back into position.

5.3. Applying Plumber's Tape
Plumber's tape (thread seal tape) is crucial for preventing leaks on water pipe threads. Ensure threads are clean and free from debris. Test the fitting size before applying tape.
- Apply 6-8 wraps of tape in a clockwise direction around the threads.
- Press the tape down deep into the threads without penetrating the surface.
- Add another 6-8 wraps and press down into the threads again. For 1-inch fittings, 12-15 wraps are recommended.
- Carefully shape the tape using the palm of your hand to make it uniform with the connector.
- Insert and tighten the fittings with a wrench to the inlet and outlet port of your system. Do not over-tighten, as this can cause cracks and leaks.

5.4. Whole House System Installation Steps
- Prepare the System: Bypass or shut off the main water line to your house. Open the nearest faucet to drain the water from the pipes and release any pressure. Use a bucket to catch any remaining water.
- Mount the System: Find a suitable location for the system. Measure and cut the water inlet pipe. Mount the bracket of the filter system on the wall and then connect it to the pipeline. Ensure the water flow direction arrow on the machine head matches the direction of the water flow within the pipeline.
- Insert Filter Cartridges: Unwrap all filter cartridges and insert them into the housing in the correct order (Sediment filter first, then Carbon Block filter). Ensure filter center holes slip over the center knob in the bottom of housings. Apply lubricant and ensure housing o-rings are properly seated to prevent leaks.
- Reinstall Housings: Hand tighten the housings counterclockwise onto the housing caps. Using the housing wrench, tighten the housing with another quarter to half of a turn. Do not over-tighten.
- Restore Water Supply: Turn on the main water supply slowly and put the system back in service. Ensure there are no leaks and that the filtration system is working properly.
- Flush the System: Let the water run from a nearby faucet for about 10 minutes until the water is clear to flush out debris and loose filter media. Turn off the faucet when finished.

6. Operating Instructions
Once installed, your iSpring WGB22B system operates automatically, providing filtered water to all fixtures in your home. No manual operation is required for daily use.
- Ensure all bypass valves are in the correct position for water to flow through the filtration system.
- Monitor water pressure. A significant drop in pressure may indicate clogged filters requiring replacement.
- The system is designed for continuous on-demand supply of filtered water.
7. Maintenance & Filter Replacement
Regular maintenance and timely filter replacement are crucial for ensuring optimal performance and water quality from your iSpring WGB22B system. Replace filters according to the manufacturer's suggested schedule or as needed.
7.1. Filter Replacement Schedule
- PP Sediment Filter: Up to 6 months (FP25B)
- CTO Carbon Block Filter: Up to 1 year (FC25B)
Note: Filter lifespan may vary based on water quality and usage.
7.2. Steps for Filter Replacement
- Shut Off Water: Bypass or shut off the main water line to your house. Open the nearest faucet to drain the water from the pipes and release any pressure. If applicable, use the pressure release button on the system.
- Remove Old Filters: Unscrew the filter housing clockwise using the included housing wrench. Use a bucket to catch any remaining water. Remove and dispose of the expired filter cartridges.
- Clean Housings: Wearing rubber gloves and safety goggles, clean the housing and housing cap with lukewarm water mixed with two tablespoons of household bleach, using a sponge or soft cloth. Rinse thoroughly.
- Install New Filters: Unwrap all new filter cartridges and insert them into the housing in the correct order (Sediment filter first, then Carbon Block filter).
- Restore Water Supply & Flush: Turn on the main water supply slowly and put the system back in service. Ensure there are no leaks and that the filtration system is working properly. Let the water run from a nearby faucet for about 10 minutes until the water is clear to flush out debris and loose filter media. Turn off the faucet when finished.
