This manual provides comprehensive instructions for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your Krups Espresseria EA8108 Automatic Bean to Cup Coffee Machine. Please read this manual thoroughly before first use and keep it for future reference.
2. Important Safety Instructions
Always follow basic safety precautions when using electrical appliances to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and/or injury to persons.
- Do not immerse the appliance, power cord, or plug in water or any other liquid.
- Ensure the voltage indicated on the appliance corresponds to your mains voltage.
- Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning the appliance.
- Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner.
- Keep children supervised around the appliance.

4. Initial Setup
- Unpacking: Carefully remove all packaging materials and ensure all components are present.
- Placement: Place the machine on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface, away from water sources and heat.
- Water Tank Filling: Remove the water tank, rinse it, and fill it with fresh, cold water up to the MAX level. Reinsert the tank securely.
- Bean Hopper Filling: Open the lid of the bean hopper and fill it with whole coffee beans. Do not use ground coffee or instant coffee.
- First Use Cycle: Plug the machine into a grounded power outlet. The machine will typically perform an initial rinse cycle. Follow any on-screen prompts or indicator lights. Place a container under the coffee spouts to collect the water.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Making Coffee
- Ensure the water tank is filled and the bean hopper contains beans.
- Place a cup under the coffee spouts.
- Turn the central dial to select your desired coffee volume (e.g., 20ml for espresso, up to 220ml).
- Press the coffee button (usually indicated by a coffee cup icon) to start brewing. The machine will grind the beans and dispense the coffee.
- To adjust coffee strength, use the dedicated strength button (often indicated by coffee bean icons).
5.2 Frothing Milk (Steam Nozzle)

- Fill a pitcher with cold milk (dairy or non-dairy).
- Position the steam nozzle into the milk.
- Press the steam button (often indicated by a steam icon). Wait for the machine to heat up.
- Once steam is ready, slowly lower the pitcher to submerge the nozzle tip just below the surface of the milk. Move the pitcher up and down to create foam.
- When desired foam and temperature are reached, turn off the steam function.
- Immediately clean the steam nozzle after use by wiping it with a damp cloth and briefly running steam through it to clear any milk residue.
6. Maintenance and Cleaning
6.1 Daily Cleaning
- Drip Tray: Empty and rinse the drip tray daily.
- Coffee Grounds Container: Empty and rinse the coffee grounds container when prompted or daily.
- Water Tank: Rinse the water tank daily and refill with fresh water.
- Steam Nozzle: Clean immediately after each use as described in Section 5.2.
6.2 Descaling (CALC)
The machine will indicate when descaling is required (CALC light). Use only Krups descaling solution or a suitable descaler for coffee machines. Follow the instructions provided with the descaling product and the machine's display prompts.
- Empty the water tank and drip tray.
- Pour the descaling solution into the water tank, diluted as per product instructions.
- Place a large container (at least 1 liter) under the coffee spouts and steam nozzle.
- Initiate the descaling cycle as per your machine's specific instructions (often by pressing and holding the CALC button).
- The machine will run through a cycle of dispensing descaling solution and then rinsing.
- After the cycle, rinse the water tank thoroughly and refill with fresh water. Run several rinse cycles to ensure no descaling solution remains.
6.3 Cleaning Tablets (CLEAN)
The machine will indicate when a cleaning cycle is required (CLEAN light). Use only Krups cleaning tablets.
- Place a cleaning tablet into the designated compartment (refer to your machine's specific diagram).
- Place a container under the coffee spouts.
- Initiate the cleaning cycle (often by pressing and holding the CLEAN button).
- The machine will perform a cleaning cycle.
- After the cycle, empty and rinse the drip tray and coffee grounds container.
7. Troubleshooting
