Setup

  1. Unpack: Carefully remove all packaging materials and ensure all components are present.
  2. Initial Cleaning: Before first use, wash the decoction collector, filter basket, and lid with warm soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. Wipe the exterior of the main unit with a damp cloth.
  3. Placement: Place the coffee maker on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface, away from water sources and direct heat. Ensure adequate ventilation around the appliance.
  4. Power Connection: Ensure the power switch is in the "OFF" position before plugging the appliance into a standard 230V AC electrical outlet.

Operating Instructions

Follow these steps to brew South Indian filter coffee:

  1. Add Coffee Powder: Place the microfine filter basket into the main unit. Add the desired amount of finely ground coffee powder into the filter basket. Do not overfill.
  2. Add Water: Fill the water reservoir with fresh, cold water. Refer to the water level indicator on the side of the unit. Do not exceed the "MAX" level (500ml).
  3. Assemble: Place the lid securely on top of the coffee maker. Ensure the decoction collector is correctly positioned beneath the filter basket.
  4. Start Brewing: Plug the coffee maker into the power outlet and switch the power button to "ON". The indicator light will illuminate.
  5. Wait for Decoction: The heating element will heat the water, which will then drip through the coffee powder in the filter basket, collecting as decoction in the jug below. This process may take some time depending on the water quantity and coffee grind.
  6. Serve: Once the brewing process is complete and the decoction has collected, switch the power button to "OFF" and unplug the appliance. Carefully remove the decoction collector and serve the fresh coffee decoction.

Note: For best results, use fresh, finely ground coffee powder suitable for filter coffee. Adjust coffee and water quantities to achieve desired strength.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your coffee maker.

  1. Unplug and Cool: Always unplug the coffee maker from the power outlet and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  2. Wash Removable Parts: Remove the filter basket, decoction collector, and lid. Wash these parts in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely.
  3. Clean Main Unit: Wipe the exterior of the main unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads. Never immerse the main unit in water or any other liquid.
  4. Descaling (Periodically): Over time, mineral deposits may accumulate. To descale, fill the water reservoir with a solution of equal parts water and white vinegar. Run a brewing cycle without coffee powder. After the cycle, run two more cycles with fresh water to rinse thoroughly. Perform descaling every 1-3 months depending on water hardness and usage.
  5. Storage: Ensure all parts are clean and dry before storing the coffee maker in a cool, dry place.
