Programming Instructions

This key fob is designed for self-programming. The exact steps may vary slightly by vehicle model and year. Always refer to your vehicle's owner's manual for the most accurate programming procedure. A common procedure for compatible GM vehicles is as follows:

  1. Ensure all vehicle doors are closed.
  2. Sit in the driver's seat.
  3. Insert your vehicle's ignition key into the ignition.
  4. Hold down the UNLOCK button on the driver's side door panel.
  5. While holding the UNLOCK button, cycle the ignition key from OFF to ON and back to OFF two times. Do not start the engine.
  6. Release the UNLOCK button. The vehicle's door locks should cycle (lock and unlock) to indicate that the vehicle is now in programming mode.
  7. On the new key fob, simultaneously press and hold the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons for approximately 15 seconds. The vehicle's door locks should cycle again to confirm successful programming of the first remote.
  8. If programming additional remotes (including existing ones), immediately repeat step 7 for each additional remote. All remotes must be programmed during the same session.
  9. To exit programming mode, turn the ignition key to the ON position, then remove the key. The door locks should cycle one last time.
  10. Test all programmed remotes to ensure full functionality.

Important Note for Multiple Fobs: If you are programming more than one key fob, ensure you program all of them during the same session. If you program one and then exit programming mode before programming the others, the previously programmed fobs may become unprogrammed.

Battery Replacement

The key fob uses a CR2032 lithium battery. If the remote's range decreases or it stops responding, the battery may need replacement.

  1. Locate the small notch on the side of the key fob.
  2. Using a small flat-head screwdriver or a coin, carefully pry open the two halves of the key fob at the notch.
  3. Remove the old CR2032 battery. Note the orientation (+/-) of the battery.
  4. Insert a new CR2032 battery with the positive (+) side facing up.
  5. Carefully snap the two halves of the key fob back together until they are securely closed.
  6. Test the key fob's functionality.
