Maintenance

Battery Replacement

The key fob uses a CR2032 lithium coin cell battery. When the remote's range decreases or it stops responding, the battery may need replacement.

  1. Carefully separate the two halves of the key fob casing using a small flat-head screwdriver or a coin.
  2. Remove the old CR2032 battery.
  3. Insert a new CR2032 battery with the positive (+) side facing up.
  4. Align the two halves of the key fob and snap them back together securely.

Ensure proper battery orientation to avoid damage to the key fob.

Troubleshooting

  • Key Fob Not Responding:
    • Check battery: Replace the CR2032 battery if it's old or depleted.
    • Reprogramming: If the battery was replaced or the fob was dropped, it might require reprogramming by a locksmith or dealer.
    • Compatibility: Double-check that your vehicle and original key are compatible with this model (refer to the Compatibility section).
  • Limited Range:
    • Weak battery: Replace the CR2032 battery.
    • Interference: Ensure no strong radio frequency sources are nearby.
  • Key Blade Not Working in Ignition:
    • This key fob requires professional cutting and programming of the transponder chip for ignition functionality. If only the remote functions were programmed, the key blade will not start the car.
