Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the unit. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, remove the batteries to prevent leakage. Store the H5 in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Microphone Care: Handle microphone capsules with care. Avoid dropping or exposing them to excessive moisture or dust.
Troubleshooting
- No Power:
- Ensure batteries are correctly inserted and fully charged. Check if the power switch is held long enough to power on.
- No Recording/Playback:
- Verify that a MicroSD card is inserted and has sufficient free space. Check input arming and gain levels before recording. Ensure the correct file is selected for playback.
- Distorted Audio:
- Reduce input gain levels to prevent clipping. Check microphone placement and ensure it's not too close to the sound source.
- Unit feels sticky:
- Over time, the rubberized coating on some units may become sticky. This is a known cosmetic issue and does not typically affect functionality. Gentle cleaning with a damp cloth (water only) may help, but avoid harsh chemicals.
