3. Setup Guide
3.1 Assembling the Microphone

4.1 Microphone Orientation and Pickup Pattern
The BM-700 features a cardioid (uni-directional) pickup pattern, meaning it primarily captures sound from the front of the microphone and rejects sound from the sides and rear. This helps to isolate the desired sound source and minimize background noise.
- Ensure the front of the microphone (the side with the Excelvan logo and model number) is facing the sound source you wish to record.
- Maintain an appropriate distance from the sound source to avoid distortion (too close) or weak signal (too far). Experiment to find the optimal distance for your specific application.
