3. Setup

3.1 Unpacking

Carefully remove the CD-RW900MKII unit and all accessories from its packaging. Verify that all components, including the remote control, are present and undamaged. Retain the original packaging for future transport or storage.

3.2 Rack Mounting

The CD-RW900MKII is designed for standard 19-inch rack mounting. Secure the unit using appropriate rack screws (not included) to prevent movement and ensure proper ventilation. Ensure sufficient space around the unit for airflow.

3.3 Connections

Before making any connections, ensure the unit and all connected equipment are powered off.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Basic Playback

  1. Press the POWER button to turn on the unit.
  2. Press the OPEN/CLOSE button to open the disc tray.
  3. Place a CD (audio CD, CD-R, or CD-RW) onto the disc tray with the label side up.
  4. Press OPEN/CLOSE again to close the tray. The unit will read the disc.
  5. Press the PLAY button to start playback.
  6. Use the STOP and PAUSE buttons to control playback.
  7. Use the SKIP buttons (◀◀ / ▶▶) to navigate between tracks.

4.2 Basic Recording (CD-R/CD-RW)

The CD-RW900MKII supports recording to audio CD-R and CD-RW discs.

  1. Insert a blank recordable CD-R or CD-RW disc.
  2. Select the input source (ANALOG or DIGITAL) using the INPUT button on the front panel.
  3. Adjust the input recording levels using the INPUT L/R knobs to ensure the signal does not clip (exceed 0dB).
  4. Press the RECORD button. The unit will enter record-pause mode.
  5. Start playback on your audio source.
  6. Press PLAY to begin recording.
  7. Press STOP to end recording.

4.3 Automatic Track Creation

The CD-RW900MKII can automatically create new tracks during recording based on input signal levels or time intervals. Refer to the detailed manual for specific settings within the MENU system.

4.4 Manual Track Division

During recording, you can manually create a new track by pressing the INS (Insert) button. This is useful for precise track marking.

4.5 Finalizing Discs

After recording on a CD-R disc, it must be finalized to be playable on standard CD players. Press the FINALIZE button and follow the on-screen prompts. Finalization is irreversible.

4.6 Erasing Discs

CD-RW discs can be erased and re-recorded. Press the ERASE button and confirm the action when prompted. This will delete all data on the CD-RW disc.

4.7 Remote Control Usage

The included remote control provides convenient access to most functions. Ensure the remote has fresh AAA batteries and is pointed towards the unit's front panel during operation.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning

Wipe the exterior of the unit with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials. Keep the disc tray free of dust and debris. Never attempt to clean the internal optical pickup lens.

5.2 Disc Handling

Handle discs by their edges. Avoid touching the recording surface. Store discs in their cases to prevent scratches and dust accumulation. Use only high-quality audio CD-R/CD-RW media for optimal performance.
