1. Introduction
This manual provides essential information for the safe and proper operation, setup, and maintenance of your Silverlit Hover Dragon 3-Channel Remote Control Helicopter. Please read this manual thoroughly before operating the helicopter to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. This helicopter is designed for indoor and outdoor use, featuring auto take-off, hovering, and landing functions, along with a manual control mode.
2. Safety Information
Always observe the following safety precautions to prevent injury or damage:
- Adult Supervision: This product is recommended for users aged 8 and above. Adult supervision is advised during operation.
- Operating Environment: Operate the helicopter in open spaces, away from people, pets, and obstacles such as furniture, lamps, and electrical wires. Avoid flying near water or heat sources.
- Body Contact: Keep hands, face, and hair away from the rotating blades when the helicopter is powered on. Do not touch the helicopter during flight.
- Battery Safety:
- Do not mix old and new batteries.
- Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc), or rechargeable (nickel-cadmium) batteries.
- Insert batteries with correct polarity.
- Remove batteries from the helicopter and transmitter when not in use for extended periods.
- Do not attempt to recharge non-rechargeable batteries.
- Dispose of used batteries responsibly.
- Impacts: Avoid crashing the helicopter. Repeated impacts can damage the internal components and affect flight performance.
- Moisture: Do not expose the helicopter or transmitter to moisture or water.
3. Package Contents
Please check the package to ensure all items are present:
- Silverlit Hover Dragon RC Helicopter
- 3-Channel Infrared Remote Control Transmitter
- Instruction Manual (this document)
Note: 6 AA batteries for the remote control are not included and must be purchased separately.
4. Setup
4.1. Transmitter Battery Installation
- Locate the battery compartment on the back of the remote control transmitter.
- Open the battery compartment cover.
- Insert 6 new AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
4.2. Helicopter Charging
The Silverlit Hover Dragon helicopter is equipped with a built-in lithium polymer battery. It can be recharged directly from the remote control transmitter.
- Ensure the remote control transmitter has fresh batteries installed and is powered off.
- Locate the charging port on the helicopter.
- Connect the charging cable from the transmitter to the helicopter's charging port.
- The charging indicator light on the transmitter will illuminate during charging.
- Charging typically takes approximately 30-40 minutes for a full charge. The indicator light will turn off or change color when charging is complete.
- Disconnect the charging cable once charging is complete.
Do not overcharge the helicopter battery, as this can reduce its lifespan.
4.3. Channel Selection (Bands A/B)
The Silverlit Hover Dragon operates on infrared bands A and B, allowing two helicopters to be flown simultaneously without interference. Ensure your helicopter and transmitter are set to the same channel.
- Locate the channel selector switch on both the helicopter and the remote control transmitter.
- Set both switches to either 'A' or 'B'.
- If flying with another Hover Dragon, ensure each helicopter-transmitter pair is on a different channel (e.g., one on A, one on B).
5. Operating Instructions
5.1. Powering On and Pairing
- Ensure the helicopter is fully charged and both helicopter and transmitter are set to the same channel.
- Turn on the helicopter's power switch (usually located on the underside). The helicopter's lights will flash.
- Turn on the remote control transmitter. The transmitter's indicator light will flash.
- Move the throttle stick (left joystick) all the way up, then all the way down. This will pair the helicopter with the transmitter. The lights on both the helicopter and transmitter will become solid, indicating a successful connection.
5.2. Basic Controls
The Silverlit Hover Dragon features a 3-channel infrared remote control. The primary controls are:
- Throttle Stick (Left Joystick):
- Up: Increases rotor speed, causing the helicopter to ascend.
- Down: Decreases rotor speed, causing the helicopter to descend.
- Directional Stick (Right Joystick):
- Left/Right: Controls the helicopter's rotation (yaw) to the left or right.
- Trim Button (Fine-tuning): Used to adjust the helicopter's rotation if it spins unintentionally. Press the trim button in the opposite direction of the unwanted spin until stable.
5.3. Flight Modes
The Hover Dragon offers both automatic and manual flight modes:
- Auto Take-off/Hover/Landing: Press the dedicated auto button on the transmitter (if available, refer to your specific transmitter layout). The helicopter will automatically take off, hover at a stable altitude, and land with another press of the button.
- Manual Mode: For more experienced users, the helicopter can be switched to full manual control. In this mode, all flight actions (take-off, hovering, landing, and directional control) are managed directly by the throttle and directional sticks.
The helicopter incorporates motion intelligence technology and a built-in gyroscope for enhanced stabilization during flight, making it easier to control.

6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the helicopter and transmitter. Do not use chemical cleaners or water.
- Storage: Store the helicopter and transmitter in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Remove batteries from the transmitter if storing for extended periods.
- Battery Care: Allow the helicopter's battery to cool down after use before recharging. Do not store the helicopter with a fully depleted battery for long periods.
- Blade Inspection: Regularly inspect the rotor blades for any damage or cracks. Damaged blades can affect flight stability and should be replaced if necessary (replacement parts sold separately, if available).
