2. Safety Information
Read all instructions carefully before installation and use. Failure to follow these instructions may result in property damage or personal injury.
- Maximum Load Capacity: Do not exceed the maximum load capacity of 75 kg (165 lbs) for the roof rack. Always refer to your vehicle's owner's manual for its specific roof load limit, and never exceed the lower of the two limits.
- Load Distribution: Distribute the load evenly across the roof rack. Secure all cargo firmly to prevent shifting during transit.
- Regular Checks: Before each trip, and periodically during long journeys, check that all fasteners and mounting points are securely tightened.
- Driving Speed: Adjust your driving speed to suit the load, road conditions, and weather. Avoid sudden braking, acceleration, or sharp turns when carrying a load.
- Vehicle Height: Be aware that the roof rack and any loaded items will increase your vehicle's overall height. Exercise caution when entering garages, car washes, or areas with low overhead clearance.
- Wind Noise: Some wind noise is normal. Ensure all components are correctly installed to minimize noise.
- Maintenance: Regularly inspect the roof rack for any signs of wear, damage, or corrosion. Replace damaged parts immediately.

4. Setup and Installation
Follow these steps for proper installation of your roof rack:
- Prepare Your Vehicle: Ensure your vehicle's roof rails are clean and free from obstructions.
- Assemble Mounting Feet: Attach the mounting feet to the aluminum roof bars. The feet are designed to slide into the channels on the underside of the bars. Adjust their position to match the width of your vehicle's roof rails.
- Position Roof Bars: Place the assembled roof bars onto your vehicle's roof rails. Ensure they are evenly spaced and parallel to each other. The front bar should typically be positioned above the B-pillar, and the rear bar above the C-pillar, but consult your vehicle's manual for recommended spacing.
- Secure Clamps: Engage the clamps of the mounting feet around your vehicle's roof rails. For open roof rails, the clamps will grip the underside. For closed roof rails, they will clamp onto the rail itself.

- Tighten Fasteners: Use the provided hex key to tighten the fasteners on each mounting foot. Tighten gradually and evenly on both sides to ensure the roof rack is level and securely attached. Do not overtighten, but ensure there is no movement.

- Install Locks: Insert the locks into the designated slots on each mounting foot and turn the key to secure them. This prevents unauthorized removal of the roof rack.

- Final Check: Gently pull and push on each roof bar to ensure it is firmly attached and does not wobble. Re-tighten if necessary.

5. Operating Instructions
Once installed, the roof rack is ready for use. Observe the following guidelines:
- Loading Cargo: Place cargo evenly on the roof bars. Use appropriate tie-downs, straps, or specialized carriers (e.g., bike racks, ski carriers, cargo boxes) to secure items.
- Secure All Items: Ensure all items are tightly secured to prevent movement, shifting, or detachment during travel. Loose items can be dangerous and cause damage.
- Aerodynamics: Large or irregularly shaped items can significantly affect your vehicle's aerodynamics, fuel consumption, and handling. Drive cautiously.
- Noise: Some wind noise is normal, especially with certain types of cargo. Ensure all components are correctly installed to minimize noise.
6. Maintenance
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your roof rack:
- Cleaning: Clean the roof rack regularly with mild soap and water. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish or materials.
- Inspection: Periodically inspect all components for signs of wear, cracks, corrosion, or damage. Pay close attention to the mounting feet, clamps, and bar integrity.
- Fastener Check: Re-check the tightness of all fasteners and mounting bolts every few months, or after significant use, especially off-road driving.
- Lubrication: If locks become stiff, apply a small amount of graphite lubricant.
- Storage: If not in use for extended periods, consider removing the roof rack and storing it in a dry, protected area to prolong its lifespan.
7. Troubleshooting
Common issues and their potential solutions:
- Roof Rack is Loose/Wobbles:
- Ensure all mounting feet are correctly positioned and clamps are fully engaged with the roof rails.
- Re-tighten all fasteners evenly with the hex key. Do not overtighten.
- Excessive Wind Noise:
- Verify that all components are installed correctly and securely.
- Check if any rubber strips or end caps are missing or improperly seated.
- Ensure cargo is loaded aerodynamically and secured tightly.
- Difficulty with Locks:
- Ensure the key is fully inserted and turned correctly.
- Apply a small amount of graphite lubricant to the lock mechanism if it feels stiff.
- Scratches on Vehicle Roof Rails:
- Ensure protective pads (if included) are correctly placed between the clamps and your vehicle's roof rails.
- Avoid dragging the roof rack across the rails during installation or removal.
