3. Operating Instructions
3.1 Synchronized Capture
With the Sync Cable connected, one camera acts as the master, controlling the settings and recording functions of the second camera. Power on the master camera, and the slave camera will automatically mirror its operational state. Any changes to video mode, resolution, or photo settings on the master camera will apply to both cameras simultaneously.
3.2 Creating 3D Content
To create 3D content, record synchronized 2D videos or photos using the Dual HERO System. After capturing your footage, transfer the files to a computer. Utilize the free GoPro Studio editing software to combine the synchronized left and right eye footage into a single 3D video file. The included 3D Anaglyph Glasses can be used to view the resulting 3D content on compatible 3D televisions or computer monitors.
3.3 Waterproof Use
The Dual HERO System housing is designed to be waterproof up to 197 feet (60 meters). Before submerging the system, ensure the housing is properly closed and sealed, and that no debris is obstructing the O-ring seal. After use in saltwater, rinse the housing with fresh water and allow it to air dry.

3.4 Data Transfer and Charging
The Sync Cable features a Mini USB port. This port allows for direct data off-load from both cameras to a computer without removing them from the housing. It also enables battery charging for both cameras simultaneously. When using the optional Skeleton Backdoor, this port can also provide a live video feed.

4. Maintenance
- Cleaning: After each use, especially in water, rinse the housing with fresh water. Use a soft, lint-free cloth to dry. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Seal Inspection: Regularly inspect the O-ring seal around the housing door for any dirt, sand, hair, or damage. A clean, properly seated O-ring is crucial for maintaining the waterproof integrity.
- Storage: Store the Dual HERO System in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Ensure the housing is clean and dry before storage.
- Lens Care: Clean the housing's lens port with a soft, clean cloth. Avoid touching the camera lenses directly.
