4. Setup
Follow these steps for proper installation:
- Mounting: Securely mount the pump unit to a wall using the provided wall mounting bracket (5). Ensure it is in a dry, protected area, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Probe Installation: Install the Redox probe (9) into the probe holder (3). Connect the probe holder to your pool's circulation system.
- Tubing Connection:
- Connect the suction tube (6) from the product container (e.g., chlorine solution) to the pump's inlet. Ensure the product suction filter (4) is at the end of the tube inside the container.
- Connect the product return tube (7) from the pump's outlet to the injection valve (3) in your pool's return line.
- Power Connection: Connect the pump to a 230V 50/60Hz power supply. Ensure the power outlet is protected by a residual current device (RCD).
- Initial Calibration: Perform a semi-automatic calibration of the probe using the provided buffer solution (8). Refer to the on-screen instructions on the pump's digital display.
5. Operating Instructions
The Astral Micro RX pump automatically controls the Redox level of your pool water.
- Power On: Once connected to power, the pump will display the current Redox reading.
- Setting the Target Redox: Use the "CAL" and "SET" buttons on the control panel to adjust the desired Redox set point. Consult your pool chemical guidelines for the recommended Redox levels.
- Proportional Dosing: The pump will automatically dose the chemical (e.g., chlorine) proportionally to maintain the set Redox level. The dosing rate adjusts based on the difference between the current and target Redox values.
- Monitoring: Regularly check the digital display for the current Redox reading and ensure the chemical container is not empty.
6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your dosing pump.
- Probe Cleaning: Clean the Redox probe regularly (e.g., monthly) to remove any buildup that may affect its accuracy. Use a soft cloth and a mild cleaning solution specifically designed for probes.
- Probe Calibration: Recalibrate the probe periodically (e.g., every 3-6 months or as needed) using the buffer solution to ensure accurate readings.
- Peristaltic Tube Replacement: The santoprene peristaltic tube (4x6mm) is a wear part and should be inspected annually for signs of wear or damage. Replace it if necessary to prevent leaks and ensure proper dosing.
- Chemical Container Check: Ensure the chemical container is always adequately filled to prevent the pump from running dry.
- System Inspection: Periodically inspect all tubing, connections, and the injection valve for leaks or blockages.
