Setup: Battery Installation
The Rayovac DIYHL3AAAB LED Headlight requires three (3) AAA alkaline batteries for operation. Batteries are typically included with the product.
- Locate the battery compartment on the rear of the headlamp unit.
- Open the battery compartment cover. This may involve a latch or a twist mechanism depending on the specific design.
- Insert three AAA alkaline batteries, ensuring the positive (+) end of each battery is aligned against the spring inside the compartment.
- Close the battery compartment cover securely to ensure water resistance and proper function.

Operation
The headlamp features a single button for power control and mode selection. The pivotable head allows you to direct the light beam as needed.
Power On/Off
- To turn the headlamp ON, press the power button once.
- To turn the headlamp OFF, press and hold the power button for approximately 2 seconds, or cycle through all modes until the light turns off.
Mode Selection
Once the headlamp is on, short presses of the power button will cycle through the available light modes:
- High Mode: Provides maximum brightness for extensive illumination.
- Brightness: 100 Lumens
- Run Time: Approximately 9 hours
- Beam Distance: Approximately 30 meters
- Energy Saver Mode: Offers reduced brightness for extended battery life.
- Brightness: 25 Lumens
- Run Time: Approximately 20 hours
- Beam Distance: Approximately 17 meters
- Additional modes (if any, e.g., strobe, red light) would be accessed by further short presses.
Adjusting the Head
The head of the lamp can be tilted up or down to adjust the angle of the light beam. Gently pivot the lamp housing to achieve the desired illumination direction.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the headlamp with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Battery Care: Remove batteries if the headlamp will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage and damage.
- Strap Care: The moisture-wicking head strap can be hand-washed with mild soap and water if it becomes dirty. Allow it to air dry completely before reattaching.
- Storage: Store the headlamp in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
