3. Camera Parts and Controls

3.1 Front View

The front of the camera features the lens, flash, and autofocus assist lamp.

3.2 Top View

The top panel includes the power button, shutter button, zoom lever, mode dial, and video record button.

3.3 Rear View

The rear of the camera features the 3.0-inch LCD monitor, electronic viewfinder (EVF), and various control buttons for menu navigation, playback, and function settings.

4. Setup

4.1 Charging the Battery

  1. Insert the battery pack into the camera.
  2. Connect the AC adapter to the camera's USB port using the supplied USB connection cable.
  3. Plug the AC adapter into a power outlet. The charge indicator will light up.
  4. Charging is complete when the charge indicator turns off.

Note: A fully discharged battery typically takes approximately 2-3 hours to charge.

4.2 Inserting a Memory Card

  1. Open the battery/card cover on the bottom of the camera.
  2. Insert the SD memory card into the slot with the label facing the front of the camera until it clicks into place.
  3. Close the cover securely.

Note: Ensure the camera is turned off before inserting or removing the memory card.

4.3 Initial Settings (Date/Time)

Upon first power-on or after the battery has been removed for an extended period, the date and time settings may need to be configured.

  1. Turn on the camera.
  2. Follow the on-screen prompts to set the date, time, and time zone.
  3. Use the directional buttons to navigate and the MENU/SET button to confirm.

5. Basic Operation

5.1 Taking Still Pictures

  1. Turn the camera on by pressing the ON/OFF button.
  2. Rotate the mode dial to the desired shooting mode (e.g., iA for Intelligent Auto, P for Program AE).
  3. Frame your subject using the LCD monitor or the electronic viewfinder (EVF).
  4. Press the shutter button halfway down to focus. The focus frame will turn green when focus is achieved.
  5. Press the shutter button fully down to take the picture.

5.2 Recording Videos

  1. Turn the camera on.
  2. Press the dedicated Video Record Button (red dot icon) to start recording.
  3. Press the Video Record Button again to stop recording.

Note: The camera supports HD video recording. Use the zoom lever during recording to adjust the focal length.

5.3 Using the Zoom

The camera features a 30x optical zoom lens.

6.1 Electronic Viewfinder (EVF)

The EVF provides an alternative to the LCD for framing shots, especially useful in bright sunlight or for increased stability when holding the camera.
