Setup and Installation
Professional installation is recommended. Before starting, ensure water supply is turned off at the main shut-off valve. Clear the area under the sink and have all necessary tools ready.
Tools Required (Not Included):
- Adjustable Wrench
- Phillips Head Screwdriver
- Plumber's Putty or Silicone Sealant
- Safety Glasses
- Flashlight
Installation Steps:
- Prepare the Sink: If replacing an existing faucet, remove the old faucet and clean the mounting surface thoroughly. For 3-hole sinks, place the optional deckplate over the holes.
- Install Faucet: Insert the faucet body through the mounting hole(s) on the sink or countertop. Ensure the faucet is properly oriented.
- Secure Faucet: From underneath the sink, slide the rubber washer, metal washer, and mounting nut onto the threaded shank. Tighten the mounting nut securely with an adjustable wrench.
- Connect Water Supply Lines: Connect the hot and cold supply lines from the faucet to your home's water supply valves. Use thread sealant tape on the threads for a watertight seal. Ensure connections are tight but do not overtighten.
- Install Drain Assembly: Follow the separate instructions provided for installing the lift rod drain assembly into the sink drain hole. Ensure a watertight seal using plumber's putty or silicone sealant. Connect the lift rod to the faucet's lift rod mechanism.
- Test for Leaks: Slowly turn on the main water supply. Check all connections for leaks. If leaks occur, tighten connections as needed.
Operating Instructions
The Moen Align faucet features a single lever handle for easy operation of water flow and temperature.

- Turning Water On/Off: Lift the lever handle upwards to turn on the water. Push the lever handle downwards to turn off the water.
- Adjusting Water Volume: The further the lever is lifted, the greater the water flow.
- Adjusting Water Temperature: Move the lever handle to the left for hot water and to the right for cold water. The central position provides mixed water.
- Operating the Drain: The faucet includes a lift rod drain assembly. Pull the small rod located at the back of the faucet body upwards to close the drain stopper. Push it downwards to open the drain stopper.
Maintenance and Care
Proper care and maintenance will ensure the long-lasting beauty and performance of your Moen faucet.
- Cleaning: Clean the faucet regularly with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners, harsh chemicals, or polishes as they can damage the finish. Mild soap and water are generally sufficient.
- Aerator Maintenance: If water flow becomes restricted, the aerator may be clogged. Use the provided aerator cache tool to remove the aerator. Rinse any debris from the screen and reattach.
- Finish Protection: The LifeShine finish is designed for durability. To maintain its appearance, wipe the faucet dry after each use to prevent water spots and mineral buildup.
Troubleshooting
