Operating Instructions
The Casablanca Wailea ceiling fan is controlled by a pull chain, offering multiple speed settings and a reversible motor function.
Speed Control
The fan features a 4-speed pull chain control. Pull the chain repeatedly to cycle through the available speeds (High, Medium, Low, Extra Low Serenity Speed) and to turn the fan off.
Reversible Motor Function
The fan's motor is reversible, allowing for seasonal use. A switch on the motor housing (often located near the blades) controls the direction of rotation.
- Summer Operation (Downdraft Mode): Set the switch to circulate air downwards, creating a cooling breeze.
- Winter Operation (Updraft Mode): Set the switch to circulate air upwards, helping to redistribute warm air trapped near the ceiling.
Always turn off the fan and wait for the blades to stop completely before changing the direction of the motor.

- Cleaning: Periodically wipe the fan blades and motor housing with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Tightening Fasteners: Check all screws and fasteners annually to ensure they are secure.
- Lubrication: The fan motor is permanently lubricated and does not require additional oiling.
Troubleshooting
If your fan is not operating correctly, consult the following common issues before contacting customer support:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Fan does not start | No power to the fan; loose wire connections; pull chain not engaged. | Check circuit breaker; verify all wire connections are secure; pull chain to cycle speeds. |
| Fan wobbles | Loose blade screws; unbalanced blades; loose mounting bracket. | Tighten all blade screws; use a balancing kit (not included) if necessary; ensure mounting bracket is secure. |
| Noisy operation | Loose screws; motor housing rubbing; fan not properly seated. | Check and tighten all screws; ensure no parts are rubbing; re-seat the fan in the mounting bracket. |
