Setup Instructions
- Unpack Components: Carefully remove all items from the plastic storage box.
- Inspect Airbrush: Ensure the 0.3 mm nozzle and needle are correctly installed. If you need to change to a different size, refer to the "Maintenance" section for nozzle and needle replacement.
- Connect Air Hose: Attach one end of the 1.90 m air hose to the airbrush's air inlet. Securely connect the other end to your air compressor's output. Ensure all connections are tight to prevent air leaks.
- Prepare Paint: Use the 15 ml pipette to transfer appropriately thinned paint into the 7 ml metal paint cup. The consistency of the paint is crucial for optimal performance.
- Air Compressor Settings: Set your air compressor to a working pressure between 1.4 to 2 bar (approximately 20-30 PSI).
Operating Instructions
The BD-130K is a dual-action airbrush, meaning you control both air and paint flow independently with a single trigger.
- Initiate Air Flow: Press down on the trigger to release air.
- Control Paint Flow: While holding the trigger down, pull it back to release paint. The further you pull back, the more paint will be released.
- Adjust Needle Stop: The adjustable needle stop at the rear of the airbrush allows you to pre-set the maximum paint flow, providing consistent lines and preventing accidental overspray. Turn the knob clockwise to reduce maximum paint flow, and counter-clockwise to increase it.
- Practice: Before working on your final project, practice on a scrap surface to get a feel for the airbrush's response and to achieve desired spray patterns.
- Finish Spraying: Release the trigger forward to stop paint flow, then release it upwards to stop air flow.
Maintenance
Proper cleaning and maintenance are essential for the longevity and performance of your airbrush.
Daily Cleaning:
- Empty Paint Cup: After each use, empty any remaining paint from the 7 ml cup.
- Flush with Cleaner: Fill the paint cup with an appropriate airbrush cleaner or solvent (e.g., water for acrylics, specific thinner for enamels). Spray the cleaner through the airbrush until it runs clear.
- Back-Flush: Cover the nozzle cap with your finger or a cloth and press down on the trigger to release air. This will force air back into the paint cup, creating bubbles that help dislodge paint residue. Repeat several times.
- Wipe Down: Use a soft cloth or cotton swab moistened with cleaner to wipe the inside of the paint cup and the exterior of the airbrush.
Deep Cleaning / Nozzle & Needle Replacement:
For thorough cleaning or to change nozzle/needle sizes:
- Remove Needle: Unscrew the handle at the rear of the airbrush. Loosen the needle chucking nut and carefully pull the needle straight out from the front. Be extremely careful not to bend the needle tip.
- Remove Nozzle Cap and Nozzle: Unscrew the nozzle cap from the front of the airbrush. Using the small wrench provided, carefully unscrew the nozzle.
- Clean Components: Soak the nozzle, needle, and nozzle cap in airbrush cleaner. Use a small brush or cotton swab to gently clean all parts, especially the inside of the nozzle and the needle.
- Reassemble:
- Carefully screw the desired nozzle back into place, tightening gently with the wrench. Do not overtighten.
- Screw the nozzle cap back on.
- Carefully reinsert the needle from the front, pushing it gently until it seats fully.
- Tighten the needle chucking nut and screw the handle back on.

Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No paint flow or sputtering | Clogged nozzle/needle, paint too thick, low air pressure, bent needle tip. | Clean nozzle/needle thoroughly. Thin paint. Increase air pressure (1.4-2 bar). Inspect and replace bent needle. |
| Uneven spray pattern | Damaged nozzle, partially clogged nozzle, paint consistency issues. | Inspect nozzle for damage; replace if necessary. Perform deep clean. Adjust paint thinning. |
| Air bubbles in paint cup | Loose nozzle, cracked nozzle, dirt in nozzle. | Tighten nozzle gently. Inspect nozzle for cracks; replace if found. Clean nozzle. |
| Paint leaks from front of airbrush | Loose nozzle, damaged nozzle seal, bent needle. | Tighten nozzle. Check and replace nozzle seal if damaged. Inspect and replace bent needle. |
