  2. Insert the rechargeable battery, ensuring the contacts align correctly. Close the cover securely.
  3. Connect the camera to a power source using the provided USB cable and a compatible USB power adapter (not always included, use a standard USB charger). The charging indicator light will illuminate.
  4. Charge the battery fully before first use. A full charge typically takes a few hours.

3.2. Memory Card Installation

The Samsung WB35F requires a MicroSD, MicroSDHC, or MicroSDXC memory card (sold separately) to store photos and videos. The camera has limited internal memory for a few photos only.

  1. Locate the memory card slot, usually near the battery compartment.
  2. Insert the memory card with the metal contacts facing the correct direction (refer to the diagram near the slot). Push until it clicks into place.

  1. Press the Power button to turn on the camera.
  2. Follow the on-screen prompts to set the date, time, and language. If the language defaults to an unexpected setting, navigate through the menu to find the 'Settings' or 'Setup' option (often represented by a gear icon) to change it to your preferred language.

4. Operating Your Camera

4.1. Basic Photography

  • Smart Auto Mode: For effortless shooting, select the Smart Auto mode. The camera automatically analyzes the scene and selects the optimal settings.
  • Scene Modes: Explore various scene modes (e.g., Landscape, Portrait, Night) for specific shooting conditions. Access these through the mode dial or menu.
  • Taking a Photo: Frame your shot using the LCD screen. Press the shutter button halfway to focus, then press it fully to capture the image.

4.2. Zoom Function

The WB35F features a 12x optical zoom and a 2x digital zoom.

  • Optical Zoom: Use the zoom lever around the shutter button to zoom in or out. Optical zoom maintains image quality.
  • Digital Zoom: Beyond the optical zoom limit, the camera will engage digital zoom. While it extends reach, digital zoom can reduce image quality.
