3. Physical Description

3.1 Front Panel

The front panel of the Zyxel GS1900-16 features 16 Gigabit Ethernet ports and LED indicators for power, link status, and activity for each port.

3.2 Rear Panel

4. Setup

4.1 Placement

  1. Connect the power cord to the power input on the rear panel of the switch.
  2. Plug the other end of the power cord into a suitable electrical outlet (AC 100-240V, 50/60 Hz).
  3. Verify the power LED on the front panel illuminates, indicating the device is receiving power.

  1. Connect Ethernet cables from your network devices (computers, servers, routers, etc.) to any of the 16 Gigabit Ethernet ports on the front panel.
  2. Observe the link/activity LEDs for each connected port. A solid green or amber light indicates a successful link, and a blinking light indicates data activity.

4.4 Initial Configuration (Web-based Management)

The Zyxel GS1900-16 is a Smart Managed Switch, configurable via a web-based interface.

  1. Connect a computer directly to any port on the switch using an Ethernet cable.

5. Operating the Switch
