Mounting the Flash

The TT560 is compatible with most DSLR and mirrorless cameras featuring a standard single-contact hot shoe. Ensure your camera has a hot shoe with a central firing pin.

  • Slide the flash unit onto your camera's hot shoe.
  • Tighten the locking ring or lever to secure the flash in place.

Note: This flash is not compatible with cameras that lack a single-contact hot shoe or have proprietary hot shoe designs (e.g., some Sony models without a standard hot shoe, or specific Fuji models like ZV1-F/A9III/A99/A77/A350/ZV1 Mark2, R6/3000D/1500D/200DII/R50, FUJI X-A3/X100F/X100T). Please verify your camera's hot shoe specifications before use.

S1/S2 Optical Slave Modes

The TT560 features S1 and S2 optical slave modes for off-camera lighting. These modes allow the flash to be triggered by another flash unit.

  • S1 Mode: The flash will fire in sync with the first flash detected from a master flash. This is suitable for manual master flashes.
  • S2 Mode: The flash will ignore the pre-flash from a TTL master flash and fire in sync with the second flash. This is useful when using a camera's built-in flash as a master in TTL mode.

Note: In S1/S2 modes, the hot shoe trigger function is disabled. The optical sensor on the flash unit detects the master flash.

Flash Head Rotation

The flash head can be tilted from 0° to 90° vertically and rotated from 0° to 270° horizontally. This flexibility allows for bounce lighting and precise light positioning.

4. Advanced Applications

Bounce Lighting

Utilize the adjustable flash head to bounce light off walls or ceilings. This technique softens the light and creates a more natural illumination on your subject, reducing harsh shadows.

5. Troubleshooting Guide

If your flash unit is not functioning as expected, refer to the following common issues and solutions:

Flash Does Not Fire

  • Indicator Light: If the charging indicator light blinks every 1 second, the battery level is low. Replace the batteries.
  • Mode Setting: Ensure the flash is in M, S1, or S2 mode. Press the MODE button to cycle through modes.
  • Fujifilm Cameras: For Fujifilm mirrorless cameras with both electronic and mechanical shutters, the TT560 only works in mechanical shutter mode. If the flash does not fire, switch to mechanical shutter mode, enable external flash, change the flash setting from OFF to M (manual), refocus, and then return the flash to manual mode.

Exposure Issues

  • Shutter Speed: For stable synchronization, set your camera's shutter speed to 1/200 second or slower. Using higher shutter speeds may result in black bands or partial flash illumination.
  • ISO Sensitivity: Start with ISO 100 and adjust according to ambient light conditions.
  • Aperture Setting: Begin with an aperture of f/2.8 and adjust as needed to achieve optimal exposure.
  • Flash Output: If images are overexposed, decrease the flash output, ISO, or exposure compensation, or use a smaller aperture. If images are underexposed, increase the flash output, ISO, or use a wider aperture.
