Setup
- Battery Installation: The thermometer requires two (2) AAA batteries, which are included. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the unit, open it, insert the batteries according to the polarity markings, and close the compartment securely.
- Initial Use: Carefully unfold the probe from the thermometer body. The display should automatically turn on.
- Temperature Unit Selection: Press the "F/°C" button to toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius temperature readings.
- Calibration (Optional): If recalibration is needed, prepare an ice slurry (a mixture of crushed ice and water). Insert the probe into the ice slurry and allow the reading to stabilize. - Insert the narrow tip of the probe into the thickest part of the food, avoiding bone or gristle.
- Wait for the temperature reading to stabilize (typically within 6 seconds).
- Read the temperature on the backlit display.
- Using the Hold Function: Press the "HOLD" button while the probe is in the food to lock the current temperature reading on the display. This allows you to remove the probe from the hot food and read the temperature more comfortably. Press "HOLD" again to release the function and resume live temperature readings.
- Backlight: The display features a blue backlight for enhanced visibility. This backlight activates automatically when the unit is in use.
Important Safety Information:
WARNING: The thermometer probe will be hot after use. Always use potholders or oven mitts when handling the hot thermometer to prevent burns.
