Maintenance

Cleaning

To clean the device, use a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosol sprays, as these can damage the device. Ensure the device is unplugged before cleaning.

Heat Management

The CoStar Stream Player can generate heat during operation. To ensure optimal performance and longevity, place the device in a well-ventilated area. Avoid placing it in enclosed cabinets or on soft surfaces that may block ventilation openings. Do not stack other electronic devices on top of the CoStar, or place the CoStar on top of other heat-generating devices. If the device feels excessively hot, consider unplugging it when not in use to allow it to cool down.

Troubleshooting

  • No Power: Ensure the power adapter is securely connected to the device and a working electrical outlet.
  • No Picture/Sound: Verify all HDMI connections are secure. Ensure your TV is set to the correct HDMI input where the CoStar is connected. Check the volume levels on both your TV and the CoStar device.
  • Network Connection Issues: Confirm your Wi-Fi router is powered on and functioning. Re-enter your Wi-Fi password in the CoStar's network settings. If issues persist, try restarting your router and the CoStar device.
  • App Not Loading/Crashing: Ensure your internet connection is stable. Try closing and reopening the application. If the problem continues, restart the CoStar device.
  • Device Overheating: As mentioned in the Maintenance section, ensure the device has adequate ventilation. If it consistently runs very hot, consider its placement and ensure no vents are blocked. Unplugging it when not in use can help.
