This section details the functions available via the CN100 connector, including auxiliary output, remote sense, DC-OK signal, and remote control.

Figure 4.1: Function Description of CN100, Remote Sense, and DC-OK Signal.
4.1 CN100 Pin Functions
The following table provides a detailed description of each pin on the CN100 connector:
| Pin No. | Function | Description |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | AUX | Auxiliary voltage output, 4.75~5.25V, reference to pin 2 (AUXG). The maximum load current is 0.3A. This output has the built-in oring diodes and can be controlled by the remote ON/OFF control. |
| 2 | AUXG | Auxiliary voltage output ground. This output return is isolated from the output terminals (+V & -V). |
| 3 | DC-OK | DC-OK signal is a TTL level signal, referenced to pin 5 (DC-OK GND). High when PSU turns on. |
| 4 | RC | Remote control ground. |
| 5 | GND | This is connected to the negative terminal(-V). Return for DC-OK signal output. |
| 6 | RC+ | Turns the output on and off by electrical or dry contact between pin 4 (RC-), Short: Power OFF, Open: Power ON. |
| 7 | +S | Positive sensing. The +S signal should be connected to the positive terminal of the load. The +S and -S leads should be twisted in pair to minimize noise pick-up effect. The maximum line drop compensation is 0.5V. |
| 8 | -S | Negative sensing. The -S signal should be connected to the negative terminal of the load. The +S and -S leads should be twisted in pair to minimize noise pick-up effect. The maximum line drop compensation is 0.5V. |
4.2 Remote Sense
The remote sensing function compensates for voltage drop across the load wiring, ensuring accurate voltage delivery at the load. Connect the +S and -S pins to the positive and negative terminals of the load, respectively. The maximum line drop compensation is 0.5V.

Figure 4.2: Remote Sense Connection Diagram.
4.3 DC-OK Signal
The DC-OK signal is a TTL level output that indicates the status of the power supply's DC output. It is referenced to pin 5 (DC-OK GND) and goes high when the PSU is operating normally.
| Between DC-OK(pin3) and GND(pin5) | Output Status |
|---|---|
| 3.3 ~ 5.6V | ON |
| 0 ~ 1V | OFF |

Figure 4.3: DC-OK Signal Connection Diagram.
5. Remote Control
The power supply can be turned ON/OFF remotely using the RC+ and RC- pins on the CN100 connector. This function allows for external control of the power supply's output.

Figure 5.1: Remote Control Connection Diagram.
The output status is controlled by the connection between RC+ (pin 6) and RC- (pin 4):
| Between RC+(pin6) and RC-(pin4) | Output Status |
|---|---|
| SW ON (Short) | OFF |
| SW OFF (Open) | ON |
6. Setup and Installation
Follow these steps for proper installation of your MSP-300-24 power supply:
- Mounting: Securely mount the power supply in a well-ventilated area, ensuring adequate clearance for airflow around the unit. Refer to the mechanical specifications for dimensions and mounting hole locations.
- AC Input Connection: Connect the AC mains input wires to the L (Live), N (Neutral), and FG (Frame Ground) terminals on the main terminal block according to the pin assignment in Section 3.1. Ensure all connections are tight and secure.
- DC Output Connection: Connect the DC load wires to the +V and -V terminals on the main terminal block. Observe correct polarity.
- Auxiliary Connections (Optional): If using remote sense, DC-OK signal, or remote ON/OFF control, connect the appropriate wires to the CN100 connector as detailed in Sections 4 and 5.
- Initial Check: Before applying power, double-check all wiring for correctness, polarity, and secure connections. Ensure no loose strands could cause short circuits.
- Power On: Apply AC power. The LED indicator should illuminate, indicating the unit is powered on.
7. Operation
Once installed, the MSP-300-24 operates automatically. The output voltage is regulated at 24V. The built-in protections (short circuit, overload, over voltage, over temperature) will activate to protect the unit and connected equipment in case of abnormal conditions.
- LED Indicator: A green LED indicates that the power supply is receiving input power and the output is active.
- Remote Control: If configured, the remote ON/OFF function can be used to enable or disable the output without physically disconnecting the AC input.
- Remote Sense: If connected, the remote sense function will automatically compensate for voltage drops in the output wiring, maintaining precise voltage at the load.
- DC-OK Signal: Monitor the DC-OK signal for an indication of the power supply's operational status.
8. Maintenance
The MSP-300-24 is designed for reliable operation with minimal maintenance. However, periodic checks can help ensure its longevity and performance.
- Cleaning: Periodically clean the exterior of the unit and ventilation openings to prevent dust accumulation, which can impede cooling. Use a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners.
- Connections: Regularly inspect all input and output connections to ensure they remain tight and free from corrosion.
- Environmental Check: Ensure the operating environment remains within specified temperature and humidity limits.
- Fan Operation: For models with a cooling fan, ensure the fan is operating correctly and not obstructed.
Note: There are no user-serviceable parts inside. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.
9. Troubleshooting
If the power supply is not functioning as expected, perform the following basic troubleshooting steps:
- No Output Power / LED Off:
- Check the AC input voltage and ensure it is within the specified range.
- Verify that the AC input connections are secure.
- If using remote ON/OFF control, ensure it is configured for the ON state (open circuit between RC+ and RC-).
- Check for tripped circuit breakers or blown fuses in the AC supply line.
- Output Voltage Low or Unstable:
- Check the load current to ensure it does not exceed the power supply's maximum output current (14A).
- Inspect output wiring for excessive length or insufficient gauge, especially if remote sense is not used or improperly connected.
- Ensure the operating temperature is within limits; overheating can cause derating or shutdown.
- Overload Protection Activated:
- Reduce the load connected to the power supply.
- Disconnect the load and re-apply power to see if the unit recovers.
- Over Temperature Protection Activated:
- Ensure adequate ventilation around the power supply.
- Check for any obstructions to airflow.
- Reduce ambient temperature if possible.
If the problem persists after performing these steps, contact qualified service personnel or technical support.
