1. Introduction

The Harman Kardon Esquire is a portable wireless speaker and conferencing system designed for high-quality audio playback and clear conference calls. It features Bluetooth connectivity, a built-in microphone with noise cancellation, and a rechargeable battery for extended use.

This manual provides instructions for setting up, operating, and maintaining your Esquire system.

3. Setup

3.1 Charging the Battery

Before initial use, fully charge the Esquire speaker. Connect the provided USB cable to the speaker's micro USB port and the 3-port USB adapter. Plug the adapter into a power outlet. The battery indicator lights on the side of the speaker will illuminate to show charging status.

A full charge provides up to 8 hours of music playback or conference call time. The 3-port USB adapter allows simultaneous charging of the Esquire and other USB-powered devices.

3.2 Powering On/Off

To power on: Press and hold the Power button (usually located on the top panel) until the indicator lights illuminate.
To power off: Press and hold the Power button until the indicator lights turn off.

4. Operation

4.1 Bluetooth Pairing

Ensure the Esquire speaker is powered on.
Press the Bluetooth button on the top panel. The Bluetooth indicator light will flash, indicating pairing mode.
On your Bluetooth-enabled device (smartphone, tablet, etc.), enable Bluetooth and search for available devices.
Select "Harman Kardon Esquire" from the list. Once connected, the Bluetooth indicator light will glow solid.

The Esquire also supports NFC (Near Field Communication) for quick pairing. Simply tap your NFC-enabled device to the NFC area on the speaker to initiate pairing.

4.2 Music Playback

Once paired via Bluetooth, you can stream audio from your device to the Esquire speaker. Use the controls on your device or the speaker's top panel to manage playback:

Volume Up/Down: Press the + or - buttons.
Play/Pause: Press the Play/Pause button.

4.3 Conferencing System

The Esquire features a dual-microphone system with noise and echo cancellation for clear conference calls. When a call comes in while connected via Bluetooth:

Answer Call: Press the Phone button.
End Call: Press the Phone button again.
Mute Microphone: Press the Microphone button. Press again to unmute.

The speaker's smart orientation ensures optimal microphone pickup regardless of its position.

5. Maintenance

Clean the speaker with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
Avoid exposing the speaker to extreme temperatures, humidity, or direct sunlight.
Store the speaker in its carrying pouch when not in use to protect it from dust and scratches.
The speaker is not waterproof. Avoid contact with liquids.

6. Troubleshooting

Problem	Solution
Speaker does not power on.	Ensure the battery is charged. Connect the speaker to a power source using the provided USB adapter and cable.
Cannot pair via Bluetooth.	Ensure the speaker is in pairing mode (Bluetooth indicator flashing). Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your device. Move the speaker closer to your device (within 10 meters). Forget the device from your phone's Bluetooth settings and try pairing again.
No sound or low volume.	Increase volume on both the speaker and your connected device. Ensure the speaker is properly paired and connected. Check if the audio source is playing.
Poor call quality during conferencing.	Ensure the microphone is not muted. Reduce background noise in the environment. Ensure the speaker is placed on a stable surface and not obstructed.
