This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your WAC Lighting EN-2460-RB2 Remote Enclosed Electronic Transformer. This Class 2, UL & cUL listed transformer is designed to provide a reliable 24V output from a 120V input, ideal for various low voltage lighting applications.

2. Safety Information

4. Setup and Installation

4.1. General Wiring Guidelines

The enclosure cover is designed for easy removal to facilitate wiring. The transformer includes knockouts on three sides with clips for secure line voltage wiring connections.

• Primary Wiring (Input 120V AC): Connect the 120V AC input to the primary side of the transformer. Ensure all connections are secure and comply with local electrical codes.
• Secondary Wiring (Output 24V AC): For Class 2 transformers, secondary wiring does not require conduit sheathed cable or clamp wiring techniques. Non-metallic sheathed cable may be used for secondary wiring in walls and ceilings, simplifying installation.
• Always use for initial installations to ensure safe and primary side connections within a wiring compartment.

4.2. Dimming

This transformer is designed for smooth and continuous dimming when used with an electronic low voltage (ELV) dimmer. It is crucial that dimmers are always installed on the primary side of the transformer (120V input side) to ensure proper operation and prevent damage.

5. Operating Instructions

Once properly installed and wired, the transformer will convert the 120V AC input to 24V AC output for your low voltage lighting system. Operation is automatic upon power supply.

• Dimming: If an electronic low voltage (ELV) dimmer is installed on the primary side, you can control the brightness of your connected low voltage lights. Adjust the dimmer to achieve the desired light level.
• Ensure the total wattage of connected fixtures does not exceed the transformer's 60W maximum load capacity and meets the 1W minimum load requirement for optimal performance, especially with LED products.

The WAC Lighting EN-2460-RB2 transformer is designed for long-term, maintenance-free operation. No user-serviceable parts are inside. For cleaning, ensure power is disconnected and wipe the exterior with a dry, soft cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.

If you experience issues with your transformer, please review the following common problems and solutions:

• No Light Output:
  - Verify that the 120V AC input power is active at the primary side of the transformer.
  - Check all wiring connections for looseness or incorrect polarity.
  - Ensure the total load of connected fixtures does not exceed 60W and meets the 1W minimum load.
• Flickering Lights:
  - This can often be caused by an incompatible dimmer or a load that is too low for the dimmer/transformer combination. Ensure you are using an electronic low voltage (ELV) dimmer.
  - Verify the minimum load requirement (1W) is met.
• Dimming Issues (e.g., not dimming smoothly, limited range):
  - Confirm that the dimmer is an ELV type and is installed on the primary (120V) side of the transformer.
  - Some dimmers may require adjustment of their high-end or low-end trim levels. Refer to your dimmer's instruction manual for specific settings.
• Overload Protection Activated:
  - If the transformer shuts off, it may be due to an overload. Disconnect some fixtures to reduce the total wattage below 60W and then cycle the power to reset the transformer.
